ABSTRACT

Today second-look-laparotomy is recommendable for corroboration of complete remission in ovarian carcinomas. In these cases fluids of peritoneal lavage and biopsies will be got from different regions of abdomen. Physicians, oncologists and pathologists should think at the possibility of existence of benign glands by valuation of biopsies or fluids of laverage. This should be included in the differential diagnostic concept.

ABSTRACT

Based on the course of disease, the clinical and pathohistological findings of two patients reflections are presented about the mode of infection of the upper female genital tract of IUD users with actinomycetes, and conclusions about treatment, too. For avoidance of inflammatory complications of intrauterine contraception it is recommended, to consider evidence of endometriosis, to give up identifying threads in favour of ultrasonic examination and to examine vaginal smears of IUD users with regard to actinomycetes. Laparoscopy is the surest method diagnosing a salpingoophoritis early. Treatment of choice is primarily a conservative therapy with antibiotics and secondly, surgical intervention of persisting findings. The vaginal route is suggested.

PIP: Based on the course of the disease, the clinical and pathohistological findings of 2 patients are presented. Also presented are the mode of infection in the upper genital female tract of IUD users with actinomycetes, and the conclusions about treatment. In order to avoid inflammatory complications from the IUD, it is recommended to use ultrasonic examination and examination of vaginal smears of IUD users with regard to actinomycetes. Laparoscopy is the surest method of diagnosing salpingoophoritis early. Treatment of choice is primarily a conservative therapy with antibiotics and secondly, surgical intervention when infection persists. The vaginal route is suggested. (author's modified)

ABSTRACT

This paper reports the case of a 22-year-old woman with tuberous cerebral sclerosis and monstrous angioleiomyolipomata in the two kidneys, who died of spontaneous retroperitoneal mass bleeding from the hamartoblastomata in both kidneys. The disease had not been diagnosed during life despite imbecility since early childhood and the presence of guiding peripheral symptoms in the form of Pringle's disease.

ABSTRACT

Reported in this paper is a mesonephroid carcinoma in the vagina of a primigravida, 27 years of age, in the 27th or 28th week of pregnancy. The carcionoma originated from Gartner's duct and is characterised by typical papillary structures. Such carcionoma quite often cannot be morphologically differentiated from metamesonephroid carcionomas which originate from Mueller's epithelium to occur on the same site. Both tumour forms are rather often be considered an entity in relevant literature. The development of that carcinoma during gravidity is considered accidental. - Included in the therapeutic approach were Caesarean section, radical hysterectomy, including radical adnexectomy and removal of a 5-cm vaginal collar, removal of the Douglas peritoneum because of visible intraperitoneal metastasation, and extensive lymphonodectomy, all in one session. - Biaxial telecobalt pendulum irradiation followed postsurgically, the focal dose being 7,000 rd. No sign of recurrence has been recordable from follow-up checks and clinical examinations, one year from surgery.
