ABSTRACT

Divalent platinum compounds: cis-dichlorodiammineplatinum (II) (DDP) and its new macromolecular complexes poly (hexacis[chloroammineaquaplatinum(II)])-micro- deoxyribonucleats (MCP) have been used for the first time as the cell culture synchronization inductors. It is established that when monolayer cell cultures are incubated in presence of the above compounds, the conditions are created under which cell cycle is blocked at the S-phase and more then 80% of cells are accumulated in the Gl-phase. MCP compound is preferable in this case.

ABSTRACT

Rotavirus infection is not only the most distributed disease of children but a widely spread cause of their death. Nowadays considerable methodical potential which permits effectively detecting the whole virions, group A, antigens of human rotaviruses, virus-specific RNA in the clinical material is accumulated. There is a tendency to an increase of sensitivity and expressivity of the methods based on the use of immunological principles for detection and calculation of the antigen-antibody complex. Molecular-biological methods of the study are developed, which is important for the theory and practice of this infection control.

ABSTRACT

The authors studied the antitumour activity of a new complex platinum compound (DDP-DNA) in mice with leukemia P-388 and in cell culture. DDP-DNA was introduced intraperitoneally 24 hours after inoculation of 2 x 10(6) tumour cells. It was established that by its antitumour activity DDP-DNA was not inferior then DDP. The antiproliferative activity of nontoxic doses of the preparation in cell culture has been shown.

ABSTRACT

Toxic action of polyplatillen, a principally new platinum compound, was studied on laboratory animals and cell culture. When compared with cis-dichlorodiamminplatinum, the preparation is 10-fold less toxic in animals and 100-fold--in the cellular systems. Reversibility of damaging action of polyplatillen at "non-toxic" dosages conditions the perspectiveness of its further clinical trials.

ABSTRACT

The preparation obtained when cultivating virus SA-11 in the transplantable cell culture SPEV has been purified and concentrated by means of bentonite. The virus adsorption at acidic values of pH (4.0-4.5) and elution at alkaline values of pH (8.5) were the main stages of production of the concentrated and purified rotavirus preparation. The paper embraces data on the infective activity of the virus protein content, amount of the rotavirus antigen, results of the electron and immunoelectron microscopy, characterizing the method efficiency.

ABSTRACT

The results obtained in the experimental and clinical study of the preparations of mephenamine acid and levamisole with respect to their interferonogenic and interferon-stimulating action and their therapeutic effectiveness in influenza and virus hepatitis are presented. The study has revealed that mephenamine acid, along with its capacity for stimulating the processes of interferon formation in the body, produces a pronounced curative effect, prevents the development of postinfluenza complications much more effectively than levamisole and remantadin and accelerates the processes of reparation in virus hepatitis.
