ABSTRACT

Job satisfaction and turnover intention among academic staff remains a challenge in higher education institutions. To aid understanding of the factors that can reduce intention to leave and increase job satisfaction among academic staff, the present research investigated the impact of core self-evaluations (CSEs) on job satisfaction and turnover intention by proposing a parallel mediation model. The researcher used quantitative approach. The sample consisted of (n = 305) academic staff working in higher education institutions in Nigeria, with a total of 80 females and 225 males. The study attempted to investigate the connection between core self-evaluations, job satisfaction, and turnover intention using self-determination theory to investigate the parallel mediating role of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation on the relationship. Through application of structural equation modeling, the findings showed that CSEs had an impact on job satisfaction and turnover intention, mainly through the mediating role of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. The mediating role of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation provided new insight into the connections between core self-evaluations, job satisfaction, and turnover expectations.

ABSTRACT

This research aimed at gaining insight into the behavioural dimensions of projects by recognizing the social capital and the ability of project leaders to incorporate knowledge. The concept and three dimensions of social capital theory, namely structural, relational and cognitive, serve as the basis of the design in this research. The theoretical framework based on the interaction between social capital and the integration of knowledge. A survey was conducted to assess the latent variables of social capital of a project leader on the latent variable of knowledge integration capability. The research carried out with a sample of project management professionals (n = 316), provided project members' perceptions on the behavioural attributes of project leaders. Structural equation modelling demonstrated the significant positive effect of structural and relational social capital on the integration of knowledge in the project management, but no significant relationship established between cognitive social capital and knowledge integration.

ABSTRACT

This data examines the impact of personal (entrepreneurial self-efficacy and locus of control) and contextual (university environment and knowledge about business) factors on entrepreneurial intentions of university students in two Turkish universities. University students are one of the important groups to analyse entrepreneurial intentions. There are a number of researches that tested the effects of different personal and contextual factors separately on students' entrepreneurial intentions. This data tests the impacts of two different personal and contextual factors on students' entrepreneurial intentions at the same time. Data collected using a questionnaire adapted from previous research. A quantitative research design is employed to test the data. The population of the data included 356 university students. Data was analysed running regression analyses with Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Personal factors are confirmed stronger triggering factors than those of contextual.
