ABSTRACT
A new method is suggested for blood plasma fibrinogen measurements, making use of ancystron-N thrombin-like enzyme, isolated from common viper venom. Comparative studies have demonstrated the possibility of using the new test for plasma fibrinogen determination in heparin-containing or intact blood.

The content of ceruloplasmin, fibronectin and selenium was evaluated in the blood plasma of acute myocardial infarction patients within the first three days after onset if the disease. Results showed a reduction of fibronectin during the first hours after onset of the disease. The content of ceruloplasmin was increased, selenium reduced during the entire period of examination indicating pronounced disturbances of lipid peroxidation in the acute period of myocardial infarction as well as potentiation of antioxidant processes.

Basing on the response obtained in 46 patients with stage II essential hypertension, the conclusion is made on a positive action of hemosorption plus plasmapheresis on blood rheology, hemodynamics, clinical course of hypertension. The response persisted for up to 6 months.

Curantyl supplemented to the multimodality therapy for patients with Stage II essential hypertension with uncomplicated events or complicated by hypertensive crisis was ascertained to lower the intensity of intravascular blood microcoagulation due to its modifying effect on the procoagulative and thrombocytic links of hemostasis and blood fibrinolytic activity. The drug exerted no marked positive action on clinical manifestations of the disease and caused no significant changes in the parameters of hemostatic procoagulative and thrombocytic links and blood fibrinolytic activity.

It was established that use of plasmapheresis in association with hemosorption in 36 patients suffering of hypertensive disease improved the clinical course of the disease, reduced the resistance to drug treatment, increased the treatment efficacy, decreased the risk of complications. Simultaneously there was an improvement of the hemodynamics and hemorheological properties of the blood.

Relation of hemorheology and hemodynamics in healthy people and patients with hypertension of the 1st stage has been studied. A weak correlation between hemorheology and hemodynamics indices is observed in the group of healthy people. Closer relations between these indices begin establishing in patients with hypertension of the 1st stage, that testifies to the interaction of these systems.
