ABSTRACT

An effectiveness of treatment and prevention of ischemic heart disease (IHD) using laser rays and transcutaneous electroneurostimulation (TENS) in 144 patients who underwent myocardial infarction and in whose clinical characteristics of a disease there prevailed chronic painful syndrome, was studied. An analgesic effect of TENS was achieved by an application of TENS to cardiac area and Zakharin-Head's zones. Low-intensity laser rays were applied for both irradiating projections of the heart and the large vessels and irradiating the biologically active points using unique procedure. All patients had a positive clinical effect resulted from applying laser and TENS which appeared as a decreased number of stenocardia attacks, an increased tolerance to exercise and as positive ECG dynamics. Duration of remission in the main group of patients exceeded the remission length in the control group in 2.7 times which is indicative of the effectiveness of using laser therapy and TENS as a tool of urgent medical aid under stresses induced by the development of life-threatening states. Small-size laser and TENS apparatuses are proposed for use as an onboard medical equipment.

ABSTRACT

Volumetric blood flow of the head and chest was assessed by multichannel impedance plethysmography, and central hemodynamics, by tetrapolar integral rheography, in 110 patients with essential hypertension. The measurements were made during crises and 60 minutes after the onset of hypotensive treatment. It is demonstrated that the assessment of the efficiency of treatment for hypertensive crises should be based on studies of regional circulation, cerebral and central thoracic flow, in particular, as well as the BP fall in patients of advanced age.

ABSTRACT

Central electroanalgesia (EA) was used by the first aid team in 70 patients with angina pectoris and myocardial infarction for arresting the pain syndrome. The apparatus "Electronarcon" and "LENAR" were applied. The efficacy of EA was observed in residual pains 25-40 min after administration of narcotics as well as in combination of small doses of phentanyl (0.025-0.5 mg) and EA. The use of EA allows application of small doses of narcotics to exclude the respiration arrest and prolong the analgesic effect up to 150 min. It is recommended to use EA in the combined treatment of acute coronary insufficiency at the prehospital stage.

ABSTRACT

Integral rheography is conducted by M. I. Tishchenko's method by means of bipolar rheographs which do not ensure accurate reading of the values which form the formula for determining the stroke volume. A modification of the method is suggested with the use of a tetrapolar diagram of impedance measurement and a technically perfect PPG-202 device with a widened range of measurement of the resistance of the object being studied, which ensures accurate impedance reading and stable calibration. To study the possibilities of the method, comparative investigations by means of the echocardiography and thermodilution methods and by means of the bipolar variant of integral rheography were conducted. The results of the investigations bear evidence that the method described is sufficiently accurate for studying central hemodynamics in the clinic and in the prehospital stage of management of the patients.
