ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Alternaria alternata is the primary pathogen of potato leaf spot disease, resulting in significant potato yield losses globally. Endophytic microorganism-based biological control, especially using microorganisms from host plants, has emerged as a promising and eco-friendly approach for managing plant diseases. Therefore, this study aimed to isolate, identify and characterize the endophytic fungi from healthy potato leaves which had great antifungal activity to the potato leaf spot pathogen of A. alternata in vitro and in vivo. RESULTS: An endophytic fungal strain SD1-4 was isolated from healthy potato leaves and was identified as Talaromyces muroii through morphological and sequencing analysis. The strain SD1-4 exhibited potent antifungal activity against the potato leaf spot pathogen A. alternata Lill, with a hyphal inhibition rate of 69.19%. Microscopic and scanning electron microscope observations revealed that the strain SD1-4 grew parallel to, coiled around, shrunk and deformed the mycelia of A. alternata Lill. Additionally, the enzyme activities of chitinase and ß-1, 3-glucanase significantly increased in the hyphae of A. alternata Lill when co-cultured with the strain SD1-4, indicating severe impairment of the cell wall function of A. alternata Lill. Furthermore, the mycelial growth and conidial germination of A. alternata Lill were significantly suppressed by the aseptic filtrate of the strain SD1-4, with inhibition rates of 79.00% and 80.67%, respectively. Decrease of leaf spot disease index from 78.36 to 37.03 was also observed in potato plants treated with the strain SD1-4, along with the significantly increased plant growth characters including plant height, root length, fresh weight, dry weight, chlorophyll content and photosynthetic rate of potato seedlings. CONCLUSION: The endophyte fungus of T. muroii SD1-4 isolated from healthy potato leaves in the present study showed high biocontrol potential against potato leaf spot disease caused by A. alternata via direct parasitism or antifungal metabolites, and had positive roles in promoting potato plant growth.

ABSTRACT

Mo4/3B2-x nanosheets are newly developed, and 2D transition metal borides (MBene) were reported in 2021, but there is no report on their further applications and modification; hence, this article sheds light on the significance of potential biological prospects for future biomedical applications. Therefore, elucidation of the biocompatibility, biotoxicology, and bioactivity of Mo4/3B2-x nanosheets has been an urgent need to be fulfilled. Nanometabolomics (also referred as nanomaterials-based metabolomics) was first proposed and utilized in our previous work, which specialized in interpreting nanomaterials-induced metabolic reprogramming through aqueous metabolomics and lipidomics approach. Hence, nanometabolomics could be considered as a novel concept combining nanoscience and metabolomics to provide bioinformation on nanomaterials' biomedical applications. In this work, the safe range of concentration (<50 mg/L) with good biosafety toward human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) was discovered. The low concentration (5 mg/L) and high concentration (50 mg/L) of Mo4/3B2-x nanosheets were utilized for the in vitro Mo4/3B2-x-cell interaction. Nanometabolomics has elucidated the biological prospective of Mo4/3B2-x nanosheets via monitoring its biocompatibility and metabolic shift of HUVECs. The results revealed that 50 mg/L Mo4/3B2-x nanosheets could lead to a stronger alteration of amino acid metabolism with disturbance of the corresponding amino acid-related pathways (including amino acid metabolism, amino acid degradation, fatty acid biosynthesis, and lipid biosynthesis and metabolism). These interesting results were closely involved with the oxidative stress and production of excess ROS. This work could be regarded as a pathbreaking study on Mo4/3B2-x nanosheets at a biological level, which also designates their further biochemical, medical, and industrial application and development based on nanometabolomics bioinformation.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) loss is the optimal outcome for patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) but this rarely occurs with currently approved therapies. We aimed to develop and validate a prognostic model for HBsAg loss on treatment using longitudinal data from a large, prospectively followed, nationwide cohort. DESIGN: CHB patients receiving nucleos(t)ide analogues as antiviral treatment were enrolled from 50 centres in China. Quantitative HBsAg (qHBsAg) testing was prospectively performed biannually per protocol. Longitudinal discriminant analysis algorithm was used to estimate the incidence of HBsAg loss, by integrating clinical data of each patient collected during follow-up. RESULTS: In total, 6792 CHB patients who had initiated antiviral treatment 41.3 (IQR 7.6-107.6) months before enrolment and had median qHBsAg 2.9 (IQR 2.3-3.3) log10IU/mL at entry were analysed. With a median follow-up of 65.6 (IQR 51.5-84.7) months, the 5-year cumulative incidence of HBsAg loss was 2.4%. A prediction model integrating all qHBsAg values of each patient during follow-up, designated GOLDEN model, was developed and validated. The AUCs of GOLDEN model were 0.981 (95% CI 0.974 to 0.987) and 0.979 (95% CI 0.974 to 0.983) in the training and external validation sets, respectively, and were significantly better than those of a single qHBsAg measurement. GOLDEN model identified 8.5%-10.4% of patients with a high probability of HBsAg loss (5-year cumulative incidence: 17.0%-29.1%) and was able to exclude 89.6%-91.5% of patients whose incidence of HBsAg loss is 0. Moreover, the GOLDEN model consistently showed excellent performance among various subgroups. CONCLUSION: The novel GOLDEN model, based on longitudinal qHBsAg data, accurately predicts HBsAg clearance, provides reliable estimates of functional hepatitis B virus (HBV) cure and may have the potential to stratify different subsets of patients for novel anti-HBV therapies.

ABSTRACT

Plant synthetic biology has significant theoretical advantages in exploration and production of plant natural products. However, its contribution to the field of biosynthesis is currently limited due to the lack of efficient chassis systems and related enabling technologies. Synthetic biologists often avoid tobacco as a chassis system because of its long operation cycle, difficulties in genetic and metabolic modification, complex metabolism and purification background, nicotine toxicity, and challenges in accurately controlling for agricultural production. Nevertheless, the tobacco suspension cell chassis system offers a viable solution to these challenges. The objective of this research was to develop a tobacco suspension cell chassis with high scientific and industrial potential. This chassis should exhibit rapid growth, high biomass, excellent dispersion, high transformation efficiency, and minimal nicotine content. Nicotiana benthamiana, which has high applicability in molecular technology, was used to induce suspension cells. The induced suspension cells, named NBS-1, exhibited rapid growth, excellent dispersion, and high biomass, reaching a maximum biomass of 476.39 g/L (fresh weight), which was significantly higher than that of BY-2. The transformation efficiency of the widely utilized pEAQ-HT transient expression system in NBS-1 reached 81%, which was substantially elevated compared to BY-2. The metabolic characteristics and bias of BY-2 and NBS-1 were analyzed using transcriptome data. It was found that the gene expression of pathways related to biosynthesis of flavonoids and their derivatives in NBS-1 was significantly higher, while the pathways related to alkaloid biosynthesis were significantly lower compared to BY-2. These findings were further validated by the total content of flavonoid and alkaloid. In summary, our research demonstrates NBS-1 possesses minimal nicotine content and provides valuable guidance for selecting appropriate chassis for specific products. In conclusion, this study developed NBS-1, a tobacco suspension cell chassis with excellent growth and transformation, high flavonoid content and minimal nicotine content, which has important guiding significance for the development of tobacco suspension cell chassis.

ABSTRACT

Advances in spatial omics technologies now allow multiple types of data to be acquired from the same tissue slice. To realize the full potential of such data, we need spatially informed methods for data integration. Here, we introduce SpatialGlue, a graph neural network model with a dual-attention mechanism that deciphers spatial domains by intra-omics integration of spatial location and omics measurement followed by cross-omics integration. We demonstrated SpatialGlue on data acquired from different tissue types using different technologies, including spatial epigenome-transcriptome and transcriptome-proteome modalities. Compared to other methods, SpatialGlue captured more anatomical details and more accurately resolved spatial domains such as the cortex layers of the brain. Our method also identified cell types like spleen macrophage subsets located at three different zones that were not available in the original data annotations. SpatialGlue scales well with data size and can be used to integrate three modalities. Our spatial multi-omics analysis tool combines the information from complementary omics modalities to obtain a holistic view of cellular and tissue properties.

ABSTRACT

Welding seam tracking based on online programming is the future trend of intelligent production. However, most of the existing image processing methods have certain limitations in the adaptability, accuracy, and robustness of weld feature point detection. The online welding method of gas metal arc welding (GMAW) based on active vision sensing is studied in this paper. The Steger sub-pixel detection method is used to guarantee the accuracy of feature point extraction, and a self-adaptive search window and self-adaptive slope extraction are proposed on this basis. The self-adaptive window is generated according to the linear information of the weld area, and the scale factor and range threshold constraint are added to realize the real-time detection of the weld feature information. Screening the center pixel of the laser stripe in the self-adaptive window of the current frame by the initial slope or the self-adaptive slope of the previous frame, the linear information of the weld area is obtained. The self-adaptive slope of the current frame is fitted by the random sampling consistency method, and the pixel margin is retained to adapt to the linear detection of different continuous welds. When arc light and other serious interference make it difficult to obtain weld information, a particle filter is used to make the best prediction of the weld position. Finally, the welding robot platform based on laser vision sensing was built to test various continuous welds of the butt weld, fillet weld, and lap weld. Experimental results show that the detection speed is 27 ms, and the accuracy of detection and tracking can respectively reach 0.03 mm and 0.78 mm, which meets the requirements of weld detection and tracking.

ABSTRACT

To characterize the combustion properties of solid propellants, the synchronized measurement method of burning rate and combustion temperature is proposed combined shadow imaging and radiation imaging. Using spectroscopic and filtering imaging, shadow and radiation images of a solid propellant specimen are obtained synchronously. Burning rate is calculated by burning surface movement velocity of shadow images, and combustion temperature is calculated by radiation image thermometry. Measurement accuracies of burning rate and combustion temperature of the solid propellant specimen are validated by other independent measurement methods. On this basis, the synchronized measurements of burning rate and combustion temperature of different formulations of solid propellant specimens under different working conditions are carried out. The results show that the influence on burning rate and combustion temperature of pressure and formulas is different. Therefore, the synchronized measurement of burning rate and combustion temperature can provide more direct data support for the evaluation of solid propellant combustion performance.

Background: Phosphorus in the soil is mostly too insoluble for plants to utilize, resulting in inhibited aboveground biomass, while Carex can maintain their aboveground biomass through the presence of dauciform roots. However, dauciform roots lead to both morphological and physiological changes in the root system, making their primary mechanism unclear. Methods: A greenhouse experiment was conducted on three Carex species, in which Al-P, Ca-P, Fe-P, and K-P were employed as sole phosphorus sources. The plants were harvested and assessed after 30, 60 and 90 days. Results: (1) The density of dauciform roots was positively correlated with root length and specific root length, positively influencing aboveground biomass at all three stages. (2) The aboveground phosphorus concentration showed a negative correlation with both dauciform root density and aboveground biomass in the first two stages, which became positive in the third stage. (3) Aboveground biomass correlated negatively with the aboveground Al concentration, and positively with Ca and Fe concentration (except Al-P). (4) Root morphological traits emerged as critical factors in dauciform roots' promotion of aboveground biomass accumulation. Conclusion: Despite the difference among insoluble phosphorus, dauciform roots have a contributing effect on aboveground growth status over time, mainly by regulating root morphological traits. This study contributes to our understanding of short-term variation in dauciform roots and their regulatory mechanisms that enhance Carex aboveground biomass under low available phosphorus conditions.

Objective: Defining whether a suspected case was due to scrub typhus through laboratory testing, to understand the prevalence of scrub typhus in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. Methods: An epidemiological investigation was conducted on the suspected case, utilizing Weil-Felix test and indirect immunofluorescence assay (IFA) to detect specific antibodies against O. tsutsugamushi in serum specimens. Additionally, PCR amplification of the 56-kDa and groEL genes was performed, followed by constructing a phylogenetic tree to identify the genotype. Results: The acute phase titer of the Weil-Felix test for the case was 1:160, which increased to 1:320 in the recovery phase. IFA assay revealed IgG titers against O. tsutsugamushi of 1:64 in the acute phase and 1:256 in the recovery phase. Sequence alignment of the PCR amplified fragment showed the highest similarity with the O. tsutsugamushi genotype. Kawasaki sequence, ranging from 99.71 to 100.00%. The strain exhibited the closest genetic relationship with the known O. tsutsugamushi Kawasaki genotype. Conclusion: This study confirms the presence of O. tsutsugamushi in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, with the identified strain belonging to the Kawasaki genotype, marking the first diagnosis of this strain in the region.

BACKGROUND: Postpartum hypogalactia (PH) is prominent during lactation and may negatively impact the mother's or infant's health. Acupuncture is widely used to increase maternal breast milk production. However, the effects of acupuncture on PH remain unclear. Therefore, this review aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupuncture in individuals with PH. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Articles on potentially eligible randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on acupuncture for PH published from database inception to October 2023 were retrieved from the PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, EBSCO, Scopus, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, WanFang, and VIP databases. Two reviewers independently screened the records, extracted essential information, and evaluated the methodological quality of the RCTs using the revised Cochrane risk-of-bias (RoB) tool. The primary outcome was a change in serum prolactin (PRL) levels before and after treatment. Secondary outcomes included milk secretion volume (MSV), total effective rate (TER), mammary fullness degree (MFD), and exclusive breastfeeding rate (EBR). Meta-analyses were performed using RevMan v5.4. Finally, the quality of evidence was evaluated using the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation tool. RESULTS: This study included 19 RCTs involving 2,400 participants. The included studies were classified as having an unclear to high RoB. Our findings indicated that, overall, acupuncture showed a significant effect in increasing serum PRL levels (standardized mean differences [SMDs] = 1.09, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.50, 1.68), MSV (SMD = 1.69, 95% CI: 0.53, 2.86), TER (relative risk [RR] = 1.25, 95% CI: 1.10, 1.42), and EBR (RR = 2.01, 95% CI: 1.07, 3.78) compared to that in the control group; however, no difference in MFD (SMD = 1.17, 95% CI: -0.09, 2.42) was observed. In the subgroup analysis, acupuncture combined with Chinese herbs or conventional treatment was significantly more effective in increasing serum PRL levels, MSV, and TER than did Chinese herbs or conventional treatment alone. Moreover, acupuncture alone resulted in significantly higher serum PRL levels compared to Chinese herbs; however, this benefit was not observed for TER and MFD. The quality of evidence was critically low. CONCLUSION: Acupuncture may effectively increase milk secretion in women with PH. However, owing to the low quality of evidence, further rigorously designed studies are warranted to confirm our findings.

ABSTRACT

Spatial epigenetic mapping of tissues enables the study of gene regulation programs and cellular functions with the dependency on their local tissue environment. Here we outline a complete procedure for two spatial epigenomic profiling methods: spatially resolved genome-wide profiling of histone modifications using in situ cleavage under targets and tagmentation (CUT&Tag) chemistry (spatial-CUT&Tag) and transposase-accessible chromatin sequencing (spatial-ATAC-sequencing) for chromatin accessibility. Both assays utilize in-tissue Tn5 transposition to recognize genomic DNA loci followed by microfluidic deterministic barcoding to incorporate spatial address codes. Furthermore, these two methods do not necessitate prior knowledge of the transcription or epigenetic markers for a given tissue or cell type but permit genome-wide unbiased profiling pixel-by-pixel at the 10 µm pixel size level and single-base resolution. To support the widespread adaptation of these methods, details are provided in five general steps: (1) sample preparation; (2) Tn5 transposition in spatial-ATAC-sequencing or antibody-controlled pA-Tn5 tagmentation in CUT&Tag; (3) library preparation; (4) next-generation sequencing; and (5) data analysis using our customed pipelines available at: https://github.com/dyxmvp/Spatial_ATAC-seq and https://github.com/dyxmvp/spatial-CUT-Tag . The whole procedure can be completed on four samples in 2-3 days. Familiarity with basic molecular biology and bioinformatics skills with access to a high-performance computing environment are required. A rudimentary understanding of pathology and specimen sectioning, as well as deterministic barcoding in tissue-specific skills (e.g., design of a multiparameter barcode panel and creation of microfluidic devices), are also advantageous. In this protocol, we mainly focus on spatial profiling of tissue region-specific epigenetic landscapes in mouse embryos and mouse brains using spatial-ATAC-sequencing and spatial-CUT&Tag, but these methods can be used for other species with no need for species-specific probe design.

Background: Athlete burnout is a widespread psychological syndrome in competitive sports, negatively impacts athletes' competitive state and hampers the healthy development of sports organizations. With the rise of positive psychology, exploring the mechanisms of athlete psychological fatigue through the lens of psychological capital has become a focal point of recent research. This study introduces gratitude, a key element of psychological capital in positive psychology, to examine its effect on athlete burnout and its mechanism of action, with a particular focus on the sequential mediating roles of the coach-athlete relationship (CAR) and hope. Method: A cross-sectional study design was utilized, involving 483 active Chinese athletes from national training teams and professional sports teams. The sample comprised both male (n=251) and female (n=232) athletes, with an average age of 19.24 ± 3.99 years. Participants were asked to complete self-administered questionnaires, including the Gratitude Questionnaire, CAR Questionnaire, Hope Questionnaire, and Athlete Burnout Questionnaire. Structural equation modeling in AMOS 24.0 and descriptive statistics and correlation analyses in SPSS 20.0 were employed for data analysis. Results: The study revealed significant associations between athlete gratitude, CAR, hope, and athlete burnout. Notably, gratitude was found to both directly and indirectly (via CAR and hope) influence burnout levels among athletes, suggesting a sequential mediation effect. Conclusion: The findings highlight the importance of positive psychological constructs in buffering against athlete burnout. Specifically, gratitude, alongside a supportive CAR and elevated levels of hope, may play crucial roles in mitigating burnout symptoms. These insights offer promising directions for the development of targeted intervention strategies aimed at fostering athlete well-being and performance, advocating for the integration of positive psychology principles in the management and prevention of athlete burnout.

Rationale: AXL expression has been identified as a prognostic factor in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and is detectable in approximately 50% of AML patients. In this study, we developed AXL-specific single domain antibodies (sdAbs), cross-reactive for both mouse and human AXL protein, to non-invasively image and treat AXL-expressing cancer cells. Methods: AXL-specific sdAbs were induced by immunizing an alpaca with mouse and human AXL proteins. SdAbs were characterized using ELISA, flow cytometry, surface plasmon resonance and the AlphaFold2 software. A lead compound was selected and labeled with 99mTc for evaluation as a diagnostic tool in mouse models of human (THP-1 cells) or mouse (C1498 cells) AML using SPECT/CT imaging. For therapeutic purposes, the lead compound was fused to a mouse IgG2a-Fc tail and in vitro functionality tests were performed including viability, apoptosis and proliferation assays in human AML cell lines and primary patient samples. Using these in vitro models, its anti-tumor effect was evaluated as a single agent, and in combination with standard of care agents venetoclax or cytarabine. Results: Based on its cell binding potential, cross-reactivity, nanomolar affinity and GAS6/AXL blocking capacity, we selected sdAb20 for further evaluation. Using SPECT/CT imaging, we observed tumor uptake of 99mTc-sdAb20 in mice with AXL-positive THP-1 or C1498 tumors. In THP-1 xenografts, an optimized protocol using pre-injection of cold sdAb20-Fc was required to maximize the tumor-to-background signal. Besides its diagnostic value, we observed a significant reduction in tumor cell proliferation and viability using sdAb20-Fc in vitro. Moreover, combining sdAb20-Fc and cytarabine synergistically induced apoptosis in human AML cell lines, while these effects were less clear when combined with venetoclax. Conclusions: Because of their diagnostic potential, sdAbs could be used to screen patients eligible for AXL-targeted therapy and to follow-up AXL expression during treatment and disease progression. When fused to an Fc-domain, sdAbs acquire additional therapeutic properties that can lead to a multidrug approach for the treatment of AXL-positive cancer patients.

Background: Dyspnea, a common symptom of chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs), is closely linked to higher levels of functional impairment and death, leading to significant societal and financial challenges. Despite numerous clinical trials and systematic reviews suggested the potential benefits of acupuncture for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung cancer, there is currently insufficient evidence to conclusively prove its effectiveness in alleviating dyspnea in patients with CRDs. Methods: To compile and evaluate the existing data on the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for managing dyspnea in CRDs. Randomized controlled trials investigating acupuncture for the treatment of dyspnea in patients with CRDs, such as COPD, lung cancer, asthma, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung disease, chronic pulmonary heart disease and bronchitis, were searched and retrieved from five electronic databases in English or Chinese. Results: A total of 23 studies meeting the inclusion criteria were found in databases, covering various CRDs such as COPD, lung cancer, and asthma. A meta-analysis that compared acupuncture to a control group (which included no acupuncture and sham acupuncture) found significant advantages for acupuncture in reducing dyspnea severity (P = 0.0003), increasing 6MWD (P < 0.00001), improving quality of life measured by St. George's Respiratory Questionnaire (P = 0.03) and karnofsky performance status score (P < 0.00001). No significance was found in breathing physiology represented by FEV1 (P = 0.34) and FVC (P = 0.15). There was a comparable incidence of negative outcomes in both groups (P = 0.07). Results were consistent when compared to sham acupuncture. In addition, subgroup analyses were also consistent when different diseases or types of acupuncture were analyzed. Conclusions: Acupuncture may be an effective and safe non-pharmacological complementary intervention to relief dyspnea for patients with CRDs. Nevertheless, research with high quality and large sample sizes is needed for further investigation.

ABSTRACT

Purpose: The medical-pharmaceutical separation (MPS) reform is a healthcare reform that focuses on reducing the proportion of drug expenditure. This study aims to analyze the impact of the MPS reform on hospitalization expenditure and its structure in tertiary public hospitals. Methods: Using propensity score matching and multi-period difference-in-difference methods to analyze the impact of the MPS reform on hospitalization expenditure and its structure, a difference-in-difference-in-difference model was established to analyze the heterogeneity of whether the tertiary public hospital was a diagnosis-related-group (DRG) payment hospital. Of 22 municipal public hospitals offering tertiary care in Beijing, monthly panel data of 18 hospitals from July 2011 to March 2017, totaling 1242 items, were included in this study. Results: After the MPS reform, the average drug expenditure, average Western drug expenditure, and average Chinese drug expenditures per hospitalization decreased by 24.5%, 24.6%, and 24.1%, respectively (P < 0.001). The proportions of drug expenditure decreased by 4.5% (P < 0.001), and the proportion of medical consumables expenditure increased significantly by 2.7% (P < 0.001). Conclusion: The MPS reform may significantly optimize the hospitalization expenditure structure and control irrational increases in expenditure. DRG payment can control the tendency to increase the proportions of medical consumables expenditure after the reform and optimize the effect of the reform. There is a need to strengthen the management of medical consumables in the future, promote the MPS reform and DRG payment linkage, and improve supporting measures to ensure the long-term effect of the reform.

ABSTRACT

Pattern recognition receptors are an essential part of the immune system, which detect pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) and help shape both innate and adaptive immune responses. When dsDNA is present, cyclic GMP-AMP Synthase (cGAS) produces a second messenger called cyclic GMP-AMP (cGAMP), which then triggers an adaptor protein called STING, and eventually activates the expression of type I interferon (IFN) and pro-inflammatory cytokines in immune cells. The cGAS-STING signaling pathway has been receiving a lot of attention lately as a key immune-surveillance mediator. In this review, we summarize the present circumstances of the cGAS-STING signaling pathway in viral infections and inflammatory diseases, as well as autoimmune diseases. Modulation of the cGAS-STING signaling pathway provides potential strategies for treating viral infections, inflammatory diseases, and autoimmune diseases.

ABSTRACT

Inorganic semiconductors typically have limited p-type behavior due to the scarcity of holes and the localized valence band maximum, hindering the progress of complementary devices and circuits. In this work, we propose an inorganic blending strategy to activate the hole-transporting character in an inorganic semiconductor compound, namely tellurium-selenium-oxygen (TeSeO). By rationally combining intrinsic p-type semimetal, semiconductor, and wide-bandgap semiconductor into a single compound, the TeSeO system displays tunable bandgaps ranging from 0.7 to 2.2 eV. Wafer-scale ultrathin TeSeO films, which can be deposited at room temperature, display high hole field-effect mobility of 48.5 cm2/(Vs) and robust hole transport properties, facilitated by Te-Te (Se) portions and O-Te-O portions, respectively. The nanosphere lithography process is employed to create nanopatterned honeycomb TeSeO broadband photodetectors, demonstrating a high responsibility of 603 A/W, an ultrafast response of 5 µs, and superior mechanical flexibility. The p-type TeSeO system is highly adaptable, scalable, and reliable, which can address emerging technological needs that current semiconductor solutions may not fulfill.

The GATA gene family belongs to a kind of transcriptional regulatory protein featuring a zinc finger motif, which is essential for plant growth and development. However, the identification of the GATA gene family in tetraploid potato is still not performed. In the present research, a total of 88 GATA genes in the tetraploid potato C88.v1 genome were identified by bioinformatics methods. These StGATA genes had an uneven distribution on 44 chromosomes, and the corresponding StGATA proteins were divided into four subfamilies (I-IV) based on phylogenetic analysis. The cis-elements of StGATA genes were identified, including multiple cis-elements related to light-responsive and hormone-responsive. The collinearity analysis indicates that segmental duplication is a key driving force for the expansion of GATA gene family in tetraploid potato, and that the GATA gene families of tetraploid potato and Arabidopsis share a closer evolutionary relationship than rice. The transcript profiling analysis showed that all 88 StGATA genes had tissue-specific expression, indicating that the StGATA gene family members participate in the development of multiple potato tissues. The RNA-seq analysis was also performed on the tuber flesh of two potato varieties with different color, and 18 differentially expressed GATA transcription factor genes were screened, of which eight genes were validated through qRT-PCR. In this study, we identified and characterized StGATA transcription factors in tetraploid potato for the first time, and screened differentially expressed genes in potato flesh with different color. It provides a theoretical basis for further understanding the StGATA gene family and its function in anthocyanin biosynthesis.

Background: Anxiety and depression are prevalent mental disorders. As modern society continues to face mounting pressures, the incidence of anxiety and depression is on the rise. In recent years, there has been an increasing breadth of research exploring the relationship between anxiety, depression, and physical activity (PA). However, the current research progress and future development trends are unclear. The purpose of this study is to explore the research hotspots and development trends in this field, and to provide guidance for future studies and to provide some reference for clinicians. Methods: We searched the relevant literature of Web of Science Core Collection from the establishment of the database to August 15, 2023. CiteSpace, VOSviewer and Bibliometrix Packages based on the R language were used to analyze the number of publications, countries, institutions, journals, authors, references, and keywords. Results: A total of 1,591 studies were included in the analysis, and the research in the field of PA on anxiety or depression has consistently expanded. The USA (304 publications), Harvard University (93 publications), and the journal of affective disorders (97 publications) were the countries, institutions, and journals that published the highest number of articles, respectively. According to the keywords, students and pregnant women, adult neurogenesis, and Tai Chi were the groups of concern, physiological and pathological mechanisms, and the type of PA of interest, respectively. Conclusion: The study of PA on anxiety or depression is experiencing ongoing expansion. Clinicians can consider advising patients to take mind-body exercise to improve mood. In addition, future researchers can explore the mind-body exercise and its impact on anxiety or depression, PA and anxiety or depression in specific populations, and adult neurogenesis of various exercise in anxiety or depression.
