ABSTRACT
A memória de trabalho é um sistema de múltiplos componentes de armazenamento temporário e manipulação de informações. A imagem mental é entendida como a formação de uma imagem na ausência do estímulo perceptual. Supõe-se que as imagens mentais estejam envolvidas no processo de manipulação de informações, dentro da memória de trabalho. No entanto, não se sabe se memória visuoespacial e imagem mental dividem os mesmos recursos ou são sistemas independentes. O objetivo deste trabalho foi investigar esta relação entre imagem mental e memória visuoespacial, através de evidências de tarefas comportamentais delineadas segundo o paradigma de tarefas duplas, no qual tarefas principais de memória e imaginação foram executadas sob interferências específicas. Três condições experimentais foram delineadas. Na primeira as tarefas principais foram as versões espacial e verbal da tarefa de Brooks, realizadas sob interferências dos ruídos visuais dinâmico e estático. Na segunda condição somente a tarefa de Brooks espacial foi avaliada sob interferência de uma versão adaptada do ruído visual dinâmico. Em uma terceira condição foi empregada a tarefa principal denominada tarefa de imaginação e memória (TIM) e as mesmas tarefas de interferência do segundo experimento. ..(AU)
Working memory is a multicomponent system of temporary storage and manipulation of information. The mental image is understood as the formation of an image in the absence of perceptual stimulus. It is assumed that mental images are involved in the manipulation of information within the working memory. However, it is unclear whether visuo-spatial memory and mental image share the same resources or systems are independent. The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between mental imagery and visual spatial memory, through evidence of behavioral tasks outlined under the dual task paradigm, in which the main tasks of memory and imagination were performed under specific interferences. Three experimental conditions were outlined. The first tasks were the main spatial and verbal versions of Brooks task, performed under interference from dynamic and static visual noise. In the second condition only the spatial Brooks task interference was evaluated under an adapted version of the dynamic visual noise. In a third condition was used the main task called "imagination and memory task" (TIM) and the same tasks of interference of the second experiment. ..(AU)
