Los accidentes cerebrovasculares durante o tras la endarterectomía carotídea son una causa importante de morbilidad. Se han estudiado muchos y variados métodos para detectar cambios neurológicos durante la cirugía. La exploración neurológica con el paciente despierto se sigue considerando el patrón oro. Otros dispositivos han sido estudiados para detectar accidentes cerebrovasculares durante la cirugía realizada bajo anestesia general pero ninguno ha sido suficientemente fiable . Esta revisión trata de describir los distintos métodos de monitorización neurológica (AU)
The cerebrovascular accident during or after the carotid endarterectomy is an important cause of morbidity. Plenty of neurological monitoring methods have been developed to detect neurological changes during the surgery. The awake neurological test performed during the surgery is still considered the gold standard. Other devices have been studied to detect cerebrovascular accidents during this surgery under general anaesthesia but none of them has been proved reliable enough. This review tries to describe different methods of neuromonitoring (AU)
