ABSTRACT

The spectrum of cross resistance in tetracycline resistant strains of Pseudomonas mallei was studied. Possible use of antibacterial drugs in the prevention and treatment of mallel due to such strains was investigated in the experiments on golden hamsters and monkeys. It was shown that the efficacy of the minocycline therapy depended on the level of the strain resistance to tetracycline antibiotics. The combination of biseptol and ofloxacin proved to be highly efficient in the treatment of mallei.

ABSTRACT

The method of fibrocholedochoscopy was used by the authors in 622 patients with diseases of the bile ducts. Bile duct stones were detected in 91.4% of the patients. Scarry alterations of the common bile duct wall and Vater's papilla were found in 21.1%. Cholangitis of various degrees were diagnosed in 98% of the patients. The authors propose to make fibrocholedochoscopy parallel with other modern methods of the intraoperative diagnostics in patients with a pathology of the bile ducts.

ABSTRACT

Results of the clinical use of lymphosorption in 57 patients with hepatic insufficiency of various etiology are described. Lymphosorption was found to be an effective method in exo- and endogenous hepatic insufficiency of the I and II degree. The detoxicating effect was decreased in patients with cholangitis and other purulent complications, hepatic coma with extensive necroses of the liver. Lymphosorption is thought to be inexpedient in malignant tumors of the liver with the symptoms of cancer intoxication.
