ABSTRACT

Surgery during pregnancy is not uncommon. It is estimated that some type of surgical procedure is performed in 2% of pregnancies. The risks of the anaesthesia for the mother and foetus in the first trimester are widely known (teratogenicity, aspiration risk…). We present the case of a patient in the 9th week of a twin pregnancy, who suffered from a clinical picture of small intestinal obstruction. Epidural anaesthesia was performed and the outcome of the patient and foetus is described(AU)

ABSTRACT

Severe cardiovascular events, such as coronary vasospasm or acute myocardial infarction can occur during anaphylactic reactions. Although rare, this cause of ischaemic heart disease is known. We present the case of a patient who suffered an angina episode after an anaphylactic reaction due tot administering metamizole, with no significant lesions observed in the coronary catheterisation.

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

Objetive: To know the characteristics of the minor head injury taken care in our emergency department and its short term evolution. Methods: Patients greater of 14 years included themselves than they had undergone a minor head injury to which cranial TC was made to them and that remained admitted in observation in the Short Stay Observation Unit (SOU). Descriptive and retrospective analysis. Results: A total of 172 patients was including in the study. 91% displayed a Glasgow 15 and 71% were men. Lost of brief consciousness (70%) and the amnesia (52%) was both the more frequent clinical findings of alert. The cranial TC was normal in 88% of the patients. Only 2 patients admitted in observation, needed derivation to a Neurosurgery Centre. Conclusions: The implementation of the clinical routes for the boarding of the minor head injury is necessary. The Short Stay Observation Unit constitute a location adapted for the attention for the minor TCE in hospitals that lack Neurosurgery (AU)
