ABSTRACT
The ultrastructure of the rat fetal membranes (yolk-sac) was examined following an intrauterine overdose of vitamin A (Retinol palmitate). Three and six hours after the injection drastic lesions of the yolk-sac surface cells were to be seen, obviously mainly due to the numerous leaky lysosomes present in the yolk-sac epithelium.
