ABSTRACT

Presentation of one case of seminoma on cryptorchid testicle which presented with torsion of spermatic cord clinically mimicking an inguinal incarcerated hernia. Despite the infrequency of the picture, the high association rate of neoplastic disease in cryptorchid testis which become twisted and force the adoption of oncological criteria for their treatment is highlighted.

ABSTRACT

Symptomatic leiomyoma of the kidney is an uncommon, large, solitary, benign mesenchymatous tumor that must be distinguished from renal cell carcinoma. However, the diagnostic imaging techniques currently available do not permit determining the benign nature of the lesion with precision and radical excision of the compromised kidney is warranted, as in the case described herein.

ABSTRACT

Spontaneous disappearance of pulmonary metastasis is an occasionally occurring phenomenon, thus reflected in the literature. The article presents one case of spontaneous disappearance of pulmonary metastasis of clear cells renal carcinoma, histologically confirmed by fine needle puncture aspiration. After 36 months of follow-up, the patient shows no evidence of recurrence.

ABSTRACT

Thirteen U-loop nephrostomy procedures performed percutaneously in 9 patients are described. Thirty-three percent of these patients had a bilateral, one-stage procedure. This procedure can be performed under local anesthesia and, on average, requires 45 minutes. It is simple, yet it provides many other advantages; i.e., enhanced urinary drainage, easy to change and excellent patient tolerance. For all the foregoing reasons, we consider this procedure to be a valid alternative to open surgery.

ABSTRACT

Four cases of Penis Epidermoid Carcinoma, three treated with partial amputation and one with Co60 radiotherapy due to the patient's refusal to undergo surgery, are illustrated. After an average follow-up of 14 months (2-24), patients who underwent surgery have not relapsed. Local relapse was observed in the patient given radiotherapy within 6 months.

ABSTRACT

We present our experience over 3 years in the treatment of ureteral lithiasis by means of transurethral ureteroscopy. We analyze the results of our first 120 cases. The percentage of overall successes is 74%, which varies significantly according to whether the calculus is located in the upper or lower third of the ureter and according to the curve of apprenticeship. Iatrogenic problems drop considerably after 50 cases. Rigid transurethral ureteroscopy has become our preferential therapeutic procedure in practically every type of ureteral lithiasis and we have discarded flexible transurethral ureteroscopy for its useless results.
