ABSTRACT

Results of treatment of inguinal hernias with multilayer plastic reconstruction (PR) according to Shuldays in elective and urgent surgery are analyzed. Advantages of multilayer PR are evaluated. In long-term period (up to 3 years) recurrences were seen in 0.5 to 1.0%. This is 10 times less than in plastic surgeries of anterior wall. Multilayer PR is particularly indicated for patients over 40 years with long anamnesis, weak tendinous structures, severe destruction of the posterior wall. This surgery is universal, can be performed in elective and urgent situations.

ABSTRACT

The material is based on the 20 years' experience in urgent surgical treatment of 2146 patients with gastroduodenal ulcers (GDU). 120 patients of them underwent relaparotomy. The main reasons for the repeated operations were insufficiency of the sutures of the duodenal stump, peritonitis, bleeding, abscesses of the abdominal cavity. Owing to new tactics of surgical treatment for GDU the authors managed to reduce the number of relaparotomies from 9.3 to 3.7% and total mortality rate from 5 to 0.7%.

ABSTRACT

A comparative analysis of results of treatment of 471 patients with acute pancreatitis after complex therapy including inhibitors of proteases and antimetabolite of 5-ftoruracil has been made. Results of the treatment have shown high effectiveness of 5-ftoruracil which are superior to the effect of protease inhibitors. Remote results of the treatment were followed in 134 patients. Best results were obtained in the group of patients subjected to the complex treatment with 5-ftoruracil.

ABSTRACT

The results of the studies of morphological changes in the pancreas during intraaortal injections of various 5-fluorouracil doses to 44 dogs are reported. It was experimentally established that intraaortal injection of 10 mg 5-fluorouracil per kg of mass for 3 days caused the delay in albumin-synthesizing organella function, without damaging organellas as such. Administration of a cytostatic in a dose of 15 mg per kg of mass did not only cause a drastic decline in the synthesizing activity of cells in acinar parenchyma, but also induced intracellular lesions.
