ABSTRACT

The results of fluctophoresis series in 160 patients aged 35-75 years with chronic periodontal disease are discussed in the paper. It was shown that fluctophoresis may improve both clinical and rheographic values, as well and laser Doppler flowmetry rates because of improved microcirculation. Mildronat fluctophoresis influences myogenic regulation while nivaline acts as neurogenic vessel tone regulator. Acovegine fluctophoresis is effective in cases with neither myogenic nor neurogenic regulation disorder.

ABSTRACT

The treatment of perforation of the nasal septum (PNS) is one of the challenging problems currently facing otorhinolaryngology. The enhancement of the effectiveness of the conservative treatment of PNS was achieved through the three-stage development of the methodology including septal fixation in combination with targeted long-term drug application to the affected tissues. At the first stage of the study, characteristic features of the septal defects in patients with PNS were studied. At the second stage, we have developed the method for the conservative treatment of PNS based on the stenting of the nasal septum with the use of original heptangular splinters. At the third stage, the comprehensive comparative analysis was undertaken to estimate the effectiveness of the application of the original method of conservative treatment of the patients with PNS and traditional symptomatic therapy. It is concluded that the proposed original method for the treatment of patients with PNS based on the preventive stenting of the nasal septum original heptangular splinters one of which is equipped with a magnetic manipulation channel is an efficacious method for the conservative treatment of septal perforations. The method provides the basis for the new algorithm of management for the management of the patients suffering from PNS.

ABSTRACT

The objective of this study was to enhance the effectiveness of the surgical treatment of the patients following septoplasty with the splinting of the nasal septum. An original septal stent with an integrated electron was developed that allows endonasal electrophoresis to be performed in a minimally traumatic manner. Thereby, this procedure permits to reduce the period of patients' rehabilitation after intranasal surgical intervention and to improve its effectiveness.

ABSTRACT

This paper describes for the first time the combined treatment of the patients who underwent plastic surgery for the correction of cosmetic defects in the form of grade II and III senile atrophy of the skin in conjunction with complicated neuropathies of the facial nerve. The essence of the proposed combined treatment consists in using lymphatic drainage massage, medicinal electrophoresis of a nivalin solution, multichannel electrostimulation, and microcurrent therapy with bipolar pulsed currents. The method made it possible to significantly improve the properties of the skin in the facial region, neuro-muscular conductivity, general microcirculation and cerebral circulation in the treated patients.

ABSTRACT

Clinical observations provided evidence of the positive effects of multichannel electrical stimulation by bipolar pulsed currents in combination with galanthamine electrophoresis applied for the treatment of patients with complicated diabetes mellitus. Such treatment facilitated normalization of water and carbohydrate metabolism and reduction of the body weight; moreover, it improved blood circulation and the state of the nervous system.

ABSTRACT

115 patients with chronic generalized parodontitis of middle or severe degree were examined and for them special treatment was developed with laser therapy and photophoresis use. The application of mentioned above physical and pharmacological methods in comprehensive treatment let to shorten the course of treatment and prolong the remission time.

ABSTRACT

It is shown that staged individual special respiratory exercises targeted at nervous-muscular apparatus of the pharynx and trachea improve external respiration function, activate blood flow and venous-lymphatic outflow in the neck area with stimulation of reparative processes in combined postoperative treatment of patients with cicatricial stenoses of the pharynx and trachea.

ABSTRACT

It is shown that the advanced technique of low-energy wideband electromagnetic radiation improves vascular tonicity and peripheral circulation while a modified technique of manual therapy facilitates movements in the affected part of the spine and reduces tonicity of the muscles involved in the pathological process.

ABSTRACT

A total of 178 patients aged 53 to 78 years with advanced and progressive primary open angle glaucoma have undergone a hypotensive operation. It is shown that it is beneficial for the patients to combine medication with ultratonotherapy of eyelid region for restoration of hydro- and hemodynamics in the operated eye; to give an impact on the projection of the cortical sight centers for activation of trophic and neuroregulatory mechanisms of visual functions. Such a combined approach improves the course of the postoperative period and prolongs remission in glaucomatous atrophy of the visual nerve.

ABSTRACT

135 patients aged 18 to 55 years with cicatrical alterations in the larynx were under observation. The treatment included phonophoresis of contractubex, colitin and elastolytin. The study found the necessity to take into account the age of cicatrical deformations when treating them. The most effective in treatment of formation cicatrices (6 to 12 days old) are medicines containing heparin (contractubex), which prevent the formation of pathologic cicatrices (keloid and hypertrophic ones). After the formation of the cicatrice is completed, medicines containing enzymes are more effective, because these "garnet" collagen and thus favor the mechanism of the reversion of pathologic cicatrical formation.

ABSTRACT

Efficacy of mandibular fractures treatment with laser irradiation, ultrasound therapy, photophoresis and ultraphonophoresis of 5% chondroxide oitment in 108 patients with mandibular fractures was studied. Physicopharmacological and clinical investigations showed perspectiveness of using photophoresis and ultraphonophoresis of chondroxide in maxillofacial traumatology for treatment of mandibular fractures.

ABSTRACT

Experience gained in the treatment of 100 patients by depot-phoresis of copper-calcium hydroxide is analyzed. The results of 6-month follow-up showed good results in 93.4% cases. The causes of poor results are analyzed. However, the use of this method is limited by some problems, which require further investigation.

ABSTRACT

A device BIK for active suppression of infection has been used against Herpes virus infection type 1 and 2 in 72 patients with keratouveitis. The immunological and genotypic monitoring show that patients with herpetic keratouveitis after BIK treatment have lower titers of antiherpetic antibodies, normal cellular and humoral immunity, weaker viremia and reduced quantity of viral material in corneal tissue. This positive effect persisted for 8-12 months. Thus, BIK device provides a definite, prolonged and stable therapeutic effect in patients with herpetic keratouveitis.

ABSTRACT

The authors recommend to expand laser radiation zones, i.e. to expose to infra-red laser radiation not only the trigger points and the temporomandibular joint but also paravertebral area, in the treatment of patients with temporomandibular painful dysfunctional syndrome (TMPDS). Experimental and clinical data have shown that photophoresis of 10% methyluracilic onitment is more effective than laser therapy in mild and moderate TMPDS.
