ABSTRACT

The results of clinical and experimental studies suggest that dystrophic changes arise in the pancreas following resection of two-thirds of the stomach after Hofmeister-Finsterer due to inadequate stimulation of its function during digestion and proceed according to the "atrophy due to unfunctioning" type. Early recovery of the duodenal passage of food by the reconstructive gastrojejunoduodenal plasty is an effective method of surgical correction of postgastrectomy disorders in the pancreas functioning and prevents the development of irreversible morphological changes in it. Reconstructive operations performed against the background of a pronounced postgastrectomy pancreatodystrophy in most cases result in aggravation of chronic pancreatitis and give unsatisfactory results.
