ABSTRACT

Flow coefficients v_{n} of the orders n=1-6 are measured with the High-Acceptance DiElectron Spectrometer (HADES) at GSI for protons, deuterons, and tritons as a function of centrality, transverse momentum, and rapidity in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=2.4 GeV. Combining the information from the flow coefficients of all orders allows us to construct for the first time, at collision energies of a few GeV, a multidifferential picture of the angular emission pattern of these particles. It reflects the complicated interplay between the effect of the central fireball pressure on the emission of particles and their subsequent interaction with spectator matter. The high precision information on higher order flow coefficients is a major step forward in constraining the equation of state of dense baryonic matter.

ABSTRACT

A qualitative differentiation of the blood flow was found to occur at the level of aortic arch. Erythrocytes from the carotid artery differ from those of the femoral artery by their morphofunctional parameters (surface area, lipoprotein contents, sulfhydryl groups, hemoglobin). The data obtained suggest that the erythrocytes entering the brain are younger and functionally more active. They are supposed to take part in the mechanisms supporting a stable functional condition of the brain.

ABSTRACT

Erythrocyte distribution in the vascular bed according to their maturation rate has been studied. A relative content of young erythrocytes was shown to be higher in cerebral arterial than in peripheral blood. Such distribution is believed to be physiologically important, as young erythrocytes are capable of more effective oxygen exchange for carbon dioxide.

ABSTRACT

Peripheral blood and bone marrow indices were studied in inbred (101/H, CC57W, A2G, CBA/Lac, B6WV, C57BL/6, ACR) and mongrel mice. Normal values of the morphological composition of the blood and bone marrow were established. Comparative analysis demonstrated the existence of differences in the mentioned indices not only between the inbred and mongrel mice, but also within the individual animal strains.
