ABSTRACT

This study examined the relationship between maturation and signal detection skills, as well as the effect of signal detection on the tactical behavior efficiency of young soccer players. Fifty-four male soccer players participated in the study (U-11, U-13, and U-15). Maturation was evaluated by the Khamis-Roche method, and peak height velocity was estimated. A computer-based test in the Vienna Test System® was used to assess signal detection skills, whereas tactical behavior efficiency was assessed using the System of Tactical Assessment in Soccer. Descriptive analysis, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, the Spearman bivariate correlation and the univariate analysis of variance (one-way ANOVA) were performed. Effect sizes were reported as Cohen's d, and the significance level was set at p < .05. Relationships were observed between the percentage of predicted adult height and signal detection performance. Also, signal detection skills were found to affect the tactical behavior efficiency of young soccer players. It is concluded that the players, as seen more mature, can perceive the game faster and more effectively, and are able to provide quicker responses in the game context.

ABSTRACT

AutomationML (AML) can be seen as a partial knowledge-based solution for manufacturing and automation domains since it permits integrating different engineering data format, and also contains information about physical and logical structures of production systems, using basic concepts as resources, process, and products, in semantic structures. However, it is not a complete knowledge-based solution because it does not have mechanisms for querying and reasoning procedures, which are basic functions for semantic inferences. Additionally, AutomationML does not deal with aspects of sensor fusion naturally. In this sense, we propose an ontology to describe those sensors' fusion elements, including procedures for runtime processing, and also elements that can turn AutomationML into a complete knowledge-based solution. The approach was applied in a case study with two different industrial processes with some sensors under fusion. The results obtained demonstrate that the ontology allows describing sensors that are under fusion and deal with the occurrence of data divergence. In a broader view, the results show how to apply AutomationML description for runtime processing of data generated from different sensors of a manufacturing system using an ontology to complement the AML description, where AutomationML concentrates knowledge about a specific production system and the ontology describes a general and reusable knowledge about sensor fusion.

ABSTRACT

Abstract The study aimed to compare the defensive and offensive tactical performance of U-17 Soccer players from different positional roles. The sample comprises 18 players: 7 defenders, 7 midfielders and 4 forwards. For data analysis and collection it was used the System of tactical assessment in Soccer (FUT-SAT). Descriptive analysis was performed as well as the following statistical tests: Shapiro Wilk, Student's t-test for paired samples, Anova one way, and Cohen's Kappa. Significance level was set to p < 0,05. Defenders and midfielders presented significantly higher values of offensive tactical performance compared to defensive. It is possible to conclude that defenders and midfielders in this sample possess better offensive tactical performance rather than defensive.

ABSTRACT

Abstract Since the current soccer calendar does not provide a timely fashion for proper recovery of athletes, fatigue and recovery have been extensively studied by researchers. What led to the emergence of some instruments for the purpose of provide information and give support to the professionals seeking high performance. The aim of this study was to analyze the intensity of technical-tactical training and fatigue caused in U20 soccer players, through the performance in the lower limbs and session RPE. Players (n = 25) performed the countermovement vertical jump (CMJ) and horizontal (HJ), before and after a technical-tactical training session (TTT), with the intensity being measured by Borg Scale (CR 10). The CMJ did not show significant difference (p > 0.05), whereas HJ was higher in the post-TTT compared to pre-TTT (p = 0.02). As for session RPE, 92% of players rated the intensity of the TTT as easy to moderate. The results of this study indicate that TTT low intensity does not compromise the power in testing vertical and horizontal jump. It is suggested that besides providing an operationalization of tactical patterns of collective behavior, TTT low intensity training can be used in regenerative or character moments in the sports calendar does not enable complete recovery of players.(AU)
