ABSTRACT
El gran número de manifestaciones clínicas que causan las hernias discales y las limitaciones funcionales que producen, nos motivo a la aplicación, por primera vez en la provincia, del tratamiento con ozono teniendo en cuenta los beneficios reportados con esta terapéutica. Se realizó un estudio de serie de casos que incluyó 137 pacientes de los remitidos a la Consulta de Ozonoterapia, con diagnóstico confirmado de hernia discal y que mantenían síntomas a pesar de los diferentes tratamientos convencionales realizados. The specialists of the present paper were motivated to give ozone therapy in Holguín province for the first time due to the several clinical manifestations and the functional limitations that herniated disk causes regarding the effectiveness of this therapy. Se realizó un estudio de serie de casos a 122 enfermos adultos mayores, con las primeras cinco localizaciones más frecuentes de cáncer, atendidos por primera vez en la Consulta de Oncología del Hospital V.I.Lenin de Holguín en el año 2007, para determinar los factores que influyen en la demora en el diagnóstico de la enfermedad. Los métodos utilizados fueron: teóricos de análisis y síntesis, empírico y la estadística descriptiva e inferencial. Encontramos que el 61,9 por ciento de los enfermos atendidos tenían 60 años o más y el mayor número de ellos, en las edades entre 70 y 79 años. Las neoplasias de pulmón en el hombre y de mama en la mujer fueron las más frecuentes, el diagnóstico se hizo en etapas clínicas II y III en el 64,8 por cient de los pacientes, en el 92,2por ciento se diagnosticó su enfermedad después de los seis meses de aparecidos los síntomas...(AU)
A descriptive study of series of cases in 122 patients, those who had at least one of the most frequent five locations of cancer and were assisted for the first time at the Oncology consulting room at V.I.Lenin Hospital in Holguín in the year 2007 was carried out, aimed at determining the factors that influenced in the delay of the diagnosis of the disease. The theoretical analysis and synthesis, the empirical method, the descriptive statistics and the inferential method were used in the study. 61,9 percent of the patients were 60 years old or over, and the greater number of them were between 70 and 79 years. Neoplasia of lung in men and breast cancer in women were those which affected the patients the most and the diagnosis was done on clinical stages II and III in 64.8 percent of the cases...(AU)
