ABSTRACT
An antibody-free human serum fraction has been prepared by ammonium sulfate precipitation. This fraction can be substituted for whole serum in the production of optimal yields of interferon by induced human leukocytes.

ABSTRACT
An interferon-inducing RNA, SK&F 42319, obtained from a lysate of phage-infected Escherichia coli, protected mice against Vibrio cholerae infection. This nonspecific protection was not attributable to endotoxin contamination.
