ABSTRACT

The present article is aimed at describing a clinical case report associated with thromboembolism of the distal arterial bed of the left upper extremity (the palmar arches of the hand and interdigital arteries) with the development of severe acute ischaemia on the background of a false post-traumatic aneurysm of the left brachial artery. The patient underwent comprehensive treatment including conservative therapy and stagewise operative interventions. As one of the components of conservative therapy was systemic thrombolysis of Actilyse. The first stage of the operative intervention consisted in upper thoracic endoscopic sympathectomy on the left with positive dynamics of the state of soft tissue of the left hand. The second stage was resection of the pseudoaneurysm of the left brachial artery and amputation of the phalanges II-V of the fingers of the left hand. The mentioned approach made it possible to save the left hand and preserve its grasping function.

ABSTRACT

The effect of electrolysis sodium hypochlorite solution (ENaClO) on the course of an inflammatory process in 233 patients with purulent pathology of different etiology was studied. ENaClO was obtained by means of electrolysis of the isotonic sodium chloride solution in the electrochemical cell. It was established that ENaClO had a pronounced bactericidal action contributing to acceleration of an inflammatory focus clearance of purulent-necrotic masses, stimulation of local immunity, activation of reparative processes.

ABSTRACT

The investigations indicate high informative value for determination of blood serum myoglobin content for assessment of the degree of myocardial lesion. Determination of myoglobin may be used for indirect evaluation of the mass of myocardium infarction during life. The proposed method of quantitative determination of myocardial lesion in acute macrofocal infarction allows to prognosticate the mass of necrotized myocardium.

ABSTRACT

In 102 patients with acute appendicitis the lysosomal cationic test (LCT) was used prior to operation in addition to routine analysis of blood. It was established that there was an obvious interrelation between the LCT indices and character of the inflammation in the process: the more pronounced morphological alterations in the process, the more considerable decrease of LCT. The method of determination of LCT is simple and may be recommended for wide practical use.
