ABSTRACT

The role of computed tomography in the evaluation of patients with intraabdominal hemorrhage in the absence of trauma history has received little attention. Representative cases are presented demonstrating how preangiographic, postangiographic, and combined computed tomography-angiography can aid in the diagnosis and localization of obscure causes of intraabdominal and gastrointestinal bleeding.

ABSTRACT

Two cases of chronic renal failure are presented in which a large joint severe erosive arthritis was the prominent radiologic feature of their renal osteodystrophy. In one both knees were involved, and in the other both knees and one wrist. Distal clavicular erosions were present in both, but hands were not radiographically involved. The literature is reviewed in regards other reports of erosive arthritis complicating renal failure.

ABSTRACT

A patient with chronic renal failure and progressive symmetrical ilial pseudofractures (Looser zones, Milkman's syndrome) is presented. The literature is reviewed in light of the findings in this patient, and possible mechanisms of pseudofracture formation are discussed.
