ABSTRACT

The authors describe a device for measuring the dose field in the beam section of ionizing radiation. The device consists of an immovable bench mark detector and the two detectors: a movable one and a photodiode placed on a tele- and separately movable carriage. The device affords defining the correspondence of radiation and light fields.

ABSTRACT

The paper describes a digital apparatus capable of measuring the duration of X-radiation within the range of 0.001-10.0 s with an error of 2%. The apparatus is used for exposure control in X-ray units having four- and six-pulse circuits.

ABSTRACT

Operating modes of the X-ray equipment that determine the energy spectrum of the X-radiation have been experimentally studied. Based on the spectrum analysis performed with a multichannel analyzer and a computer the quantitative relations are derived demonstrating the impact of the current and voltage waveform upon the effective radiation energy for several types of X-ray devices. The correlation tables of the X-ray equipment voltage for various rectification circuits are presented.

ABSTRACT

A dependence of effective X-ray energy upon a high voltage amplitude for filters with various thickness is plotted using experimental attenuation curves. An analytical expression for the dependence is also derived. It relates radiation quality with an anode voltage amplitude for the units PYM-20.

ABSTRACT

In the apparatus of the PYM-20, output 1973--1976 the factual errors in the anode voltage reach 30%, which impedes standardization of the roentgenography conditions. In order to take account of the factual error a reduced setting of voltage by one-two positions is recommended.
