ABSTRACT

O objetivo do estudo foi investigar como ocorrem as relações entre demandas e estratégias de tra-balho emocional e engajamento no trabalho em policiais militares. Participaram da pesquisa 302 policiais. Os instrumentos usados foram: Emotional Labour Scale - ELS, Emotion Work Require-ments Scale -EWRS e Utrecht Work Engagement Scale -UWES. Para testar o poder preditivo das di-mensões do trabalho emocional foram realizadas análises de regressão múltipla. As demandas de intensidade/variabilidade e de expressão de emoções negativas não apresentaram relações estatisticamente significativas com o engajamento. As demandas de expressão de emoções positivas com ví-timas, superiores e outros policiais e a estratégia de ação profunda foram preditores positivos, ao contrário da estratégia de ação superficial que foi preditora negativa do engajamento no trabalho. Esse artigo contribui para diferenciar as demandas emocionais conforme o grupo de interação; e caracterizar o trabalho emocional do policial e sua relação com o engajamento, destacando a impor-tância do desenvolvimento de competências socioemocionais


This study aimed to analyse relations between emotional labor strategies and demands and work engagement in a sample of 302 military policemen. Instruments were the Emotional La-bour Scale - ELS, Emotion Work Requirements Scale - EWRS and Utrecht Work Engagement Scale - UWES. Predictive Power of emotional labor dimensions were tested through multiple regression analyses. Demands of expressing negative emotions and demands of intensity and variability did not show statistical significant correlation with engagement. Demands of expressing positive emotions toward victims, superiors and other policemen, as well as the deep action strategy were both positive predictors, unlike superficial action strategy was a negative predictor of engagement at work. The study gives contributions to differentiate emotional demands according to interaction target group, deepens the understanding of military police-men emotional work and its relation to work engagement, underlyning the relevance of socio-emotional competences development among these profesionals

ABSTRACT

This experimental study compared college students' performance (individual vs. group) in a virtual game of bridge building for a train passage. We tested the superiority of group performance and power activation of affective states in the quality of task performance and conflict perception. The study (N =114) evaluated performance in groups (n = 60) and individuals (n = 54) by two criteria: an overall score(score and advancement in the game stages) and the problem-solving process. In both conditions, before and after the game, conflict perception was low, with positive affective states predominating. Groups performed better and reported greater use of problem-solving stages. There was no evidence of affective states as a mediator between experimental condition and the variables performance and conflict perception (AU)


Este estudio experimental comparó el desempeño de individuos y grupos en un juego virtual de construcción de puentes para el pasaje de un tren. Se puso a prueba la superioridad del desempeño grupal y el poder de activación de los estados afectivos en la calidad de la ejecución de la tarea y de la percepción de conflictos. El estudio (N = 114) evaluó el desempeño en la condición de grupo (n = 60)e individual (n = 54) mediante dos criterios: una puntuación general (puntuación y avance en las fases del juego) y un proceso de resolución de problemas. En ambas condiciones antes y después del juego, la percepción de conflictos fue baja, predominando los estados afectivos positivos. Los grupos presentaron mejor desempeño y relataron que había una mayor utilización de etapas en la resolución de problemas. No se encontró un papel mediador de los estados afectivos entre la condición experimental y el desempeño y la percepción de conflictos (AU)

ABSTRACT

The objective of this study was to analyze virtual teams from Brazil and Argentina. 181 Brazilians and 84 Argentineans responded to an electronic survey. Differences were found regarding the use of learning strategies, the need for training, and the perceived quality of interactions and effectiveness of virtual teams. The belief that the differences are more easily overcome in virtual teams than in traditional (co-located) teams explains to a greater extent the variance in the responses of Brazilians than Argentineans(AU)


El objetivo de este estudio fue el de llevar a cabo un análisis de los equipos virtuales de trabajo en Brasil y Argentina. 181 brasileños y 84 argentinos contestaron a un cuestionario on-line. Se encontraron diferencias significativas en el uso de estrategias de aprendizaje, en la necesidad de entrenamiento en relación a la percepción de la calidad de las interacciones, así como en la eficacia en el desempeño. La creencia de que las divergencias son más fácilmente superadas en los equipos virtuales que en los presenciales explica la mayor varianza encontrada en las respuestas de brasileños en comparación con los argentinos(AU)
