Caracterizada pelo completo deslocamento do elemento dentário de seu alvéolo, a avulsão é o traumatismo dentoalveolar que proporciona os maiores danos funcionais, estéticos e psicológicos ao indivíduo. Diversos profissionais de saúde podem estar direta ou indiretamente relacionados a esse tipo de trauma na condução de ações preventivas e/ou emergenciais.
