ABSTRACT

Background: In 2018, the US Food and Drug Administration approved the macrocylic lactone moxidectin (MOX) at 8 mg dosage for onchocerciasis treatment in individuals aged ≥12 years. Severe adverse reactions have occurred after ivermectin (IVM), also a macrocyclic lactone, in individuals with high Loa microfilarial density (MFD). This study compared the safety and efficacy of a 2 mg MOX dose and the standard 150 µg/kg IVM dose in individuals with low L loa MFD. Methods: A double-blind, randomized, ivermectin-controlled trial of a 2 mg moxidectin dose was conducted in Cameroon between May and July 2022. It enrolled 72 adult men with L loa MFD between 5 and 1000 microfilariae/mL. Outcomes were occurrence of adverse events (AEs) and L loa MFD reduction rate during the first month off treatment. Results: No serious or severe AEs occurred among the 36 MOX- or the 36 IVM-treated individuals. Forty-nine AEs occurred in the MOX arm versus 59 AEs in the IVM arm. Grade 2 AE incidence was higher among IVM- than MOX-treated participants (38.5% and 14.3%, respectively, P = .043). Median MFD reduction rates were significantly higher after IVM than MOX at day 3 (70.2% vs 48.5%), day 7 (76.4% vs 50.0%), and day 30 (79.8% vs 48.1%). Conclusions: A single 2 mg MOX dose is as safe as 150 µg/kg IVM in patients with low L loa MFD. Further studies with higher MOX doses and in patients with higher MFD are warranted. ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To describe the development of a web-based data collection tool to track the management and outcomes of uveal melanoma patients. DESIGN: Description of a clinical registry. PARTICIPANTS: Patients with uveal melanoma. METHODS: A panel of expert ocular oncologists, with input from other relevant specialties and individuals with expertise in registry development, collaborated to formulate a minimum data set to be collected to track patient centred, real-world outcomes in uveal melanoma. This data set was used to create the Fight Tumour Blindness! (FTB!) registry within Save Sight Registries. RESULTS: The data set to be collected includes patient demographics and medical history, baseline visit, follow-up visit including tumour treatment, metastatic staging and surveillance, pathology, and patient-reported questionnaires. The inbuilt mechanisms to ensure efficient and complete data collection are described. CONCLUSIONS: The FTB! registry can be used to monitor outcomes for patients with uveal melanoma. It allows benchmarking of outcomes and comparisons between different clinics and countries.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: To determine how COVID-19 lockdown impacted physical activity (PA) levels, wellbeing, and diabetes management in children (aged 0-17 years) with type 1 diabetes (T1D), from the perspectives of their parent/guardian. DESIGN AND METHODS: This qualitative descriptive study is part of a larger, parallel mixed-methods design study, which incorporated a cross-sectional survey and semi-structured one-to-one interviews. Interviewees were recruited from the survey, which was distributed to parents of children/adolescents with T1D in the UK. Interviews explored diabetes management, mental and physical wellbeing, changes in PA levels, sleep quality before/during lockdown, and the effects of lockdown on the individual and their family. The interviews were transcribed and the data were analysed thematically. RESULTS: 14 interviews were conducted with parents. Thematic analysis generated a central theme of routine disruption, with four further themes on diabetes management routines, harnessing the opportunities of lockdown, weighing up risk, and variable impact on wellbeing. CONCLUSIONS: Maintaining or increasing PA during COVID-19 lockdown was associated with better diabetes management, sleep, and wellbeing for children/adolescents with T1D, despite significant disruption to established routines. Use of technology during the pandemic contributed positively to wellbeing. PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS: It is crucial to emphasize the significance of maintaining a well-structured routine when treating patients with type 1 diabetes. A consistent routine, incorporating regular physical exercise and good sleep hygiene, will help with managing overall diabetes control.

ABSTRACT

AIMS/HYPOTHESIS: Our aim was to characterise the in-depth metabolic response to aerobic exercise and the impact of residual pancreatic beta cell function in type 1 diabetes. We also aimed to use the metabolome to distinguish individuals with type 1 diabetes with reduced maximal aerobic capacity in exercise defined by V ˙ O 2peak . METHODS: Thirty participants with type 1 diabetes (≥3 years duration) and 30 control participants were recruited. Groups did not differ in age or sex. After quantification of peak stimulated C-peptide, participants were categorised into those with undetectable (<3 pmol/l), low (3-200 pmol/l) or high (>200 pmol/l) residual beta cell function. Maximal aerobic capacity was assessed by V ˙ O 2peak test and did not differ between control and type 1 diabetes groups. All participants completed 45 min of incline treadmill walking (60% V ˙ O 2peak ) with venous blood taken prior to exercise, immediately post exercise and after 60 min recovery. Serum was analysed using targeted metabolomics. Metabolomic data were analysed by multivariate statistics to define the metabolic phenotype of exercise in type 1 diabetes. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to identify circulating metabolomic markers of maximal aerobic capacity ( V ˙ O 2peak ) during exercise in health and type 1 diabetes. RESULTS: Maximal aerobic capacity ( V ˙ O 2peak ) inversely correlated with HbA1c in the type 1 diabetes group (r2=0.17, p=0.024). Higher resting serum tricarboxylic acid cycle metabolites malic acid (fold change 1.4, p=0.001) and lactate (fold change 1.22, p=1.23×10-5) differentiated people with type 1 diabetes. Higher serum acylcarnitines (AC) (AC C14:1, F value=12.25, p=0.001345; AC C12, F value=11.055, p=0.0018) were unique to the metabolic response to exercise in people with type 1 diabetes. C-peptide status differentially affected metabolic responses in serum ACs during exercise (AC C18:1, leverage 0.066; squared prediction error 3.07). The malic acid/pyruvate ratio in rested serum was diagnostic for maximal aerobic capacity ( V ˙ O 2peak ) in people with type 1 diabetes (ROC curve AUC 0.867 [95% CI 0.716, 0.956]). CONCLUSIONS/INTERPRETATION: The serum metabolome distinguishes high and low maximal aerobic capacity and has diagnostic potential for facilitating personalised medicine approaches to manage aerobic exercise and fitness in type 1 diabetes.

ABSTRACT

Humans have a long history of transporting and trading plants, contributing to the evolution of domesticated plants. Theobroma cacao originated in the Neotropics from South America. However, little is known about its domestication and use in these regions. In this study, ceramic residues from a large sample of pre-Columbian cultures from South and Central America were analyzed using archaeogenomic and biochemical approaches. Here we show, for the first time, the widespread use of cacao in South America out of its native Amazonian area of origin, extending back 5000 years, likely supported by cultural interactions between the Amazon and the Pacific coast. We observed that strong genetic mixing between geographically distant cacao populations occurred as early as the middle Holocene, in South America, driven by humans, favoring the adaptation of T. cacao to new environments. This complex history of cacao domestication is the basis of today's cacao tree populations and its knowledge can help us better manage their genetic resources.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Data on the prognostic factors after mitral valve (MV) transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER; MV-TEER) are limited. Pulsed-wave Doppler interrogation of pulmonary vein flow (PVF) is a convenient method to assess the hemodynamic burden of residual mitral regurgitation (MR), which could be of utility as a predictor of outcomes. METHODS: Patients that underwent MV-TEER between May 2014 and December 2021 at our institution were evaluated. Pulmonary vein flow patterns post-MV-TEER were reviewed on the procedural transesophageal echocardiogram and classified as normal (systolic dominant or codominant) or abnormal (systolic blunting or reversal). The PVF pattern was correlated with all-cause mortality at follow-up. RESULTS: Two-hundred sixty-five patients had diagnostic PVF post-MV-TEER, with 73 (27.5%) categorized as normal and 192 (72.5%) categorized as abnormal. Patients with abnormal PVF morphology were more likely to have atrial fibrillation (70% vs 42%, P < .001) and greater than moderate residual MR (16% vs 3%, P = .01) and had higher mean left atrial pressure (18.1 ± 5.0 vs 15.9 ± 4.2 mm Hg, P = .002) and left atrial V wave (26.6 ± 8.5 vs 21.4 ± 7.3 mm Hg, P < .001) postprocedure. In multivariable analysis, abnormal PVF morphology post-MV-TEER was independently associated with mortality at follow-up (hazard ratio = 1.70; 95% CI, 1.06-2.74; P = .03) after correction for end-stage renal disease, atrial fibrillation, and residual MR. Results were similar in subgroups of patients with moderate or less and those with mild or less residual MR. CONCLUSIONS: Pulmonary vein flow morphology is a simple and objective tool to assess MR severity immediately post-MV-TEER and offers important prognostic information to optimize procedural results. Additional studies are needed to determine whether patients with abnormal PVF pattern post-MV-TEER would benefit from more intensive goal-directed medical therapy postprocedure.

ABSTRACT

A metabotropic glutamate receptor coupled to phospholipase D (PLD-mGluR) was discovered in the hippocampus over three decades ago. Its pharmacology and direct linkage to PLD activation are well established and indicate it is a highly atypical glutamate receptor. A receptor with the same pharmacology is present in spindle primary sensory terminals where its blockade can totally abolish, and its activation can double, the normal stretch-evoked firing. We report here the first identification of this PLD-mGluR protein, by capitalizing on its expression in primary mechanosensory terminals, developing an enriched source, pharmacological profiling to identify an optimal ligand, and then functionalizing it as a molecular tool. Evidence from immunofluorescence, western and far-western blotting indicates PLD-mGluR is homomeric GluK2, since GluK2 is the only glutamate receptor protein/receptor subunit present in spindle mechanosensory terminals. Its expression was also found in the lanceolate palisade ending of hair follicle, also known to contain the PLD-mGluR. Finally, in a mouse model with ionotropic function ablated in the GluK2 subunit, spindle glutamatergic responses were still present, confirming it acts purely metabotropically. We conclude the PLD-mGluR is a homomeric GluK2 kainate receptor signalling purely metabotropically and it is common to other, perhaps all, primary mechanosensory endings.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVES: To determine clinical features and outcomes of posterior scleritis masquerading as uveal melanoma following vaccination against COVID-19 and/or COVID-19 infection. SUBJECTS/METHODS: All patients with posterior scleritis referred to our service to rule out intraocular tumour between February 2021 and June 2022, who previously had COVID-19 vaccination and/or infection (n = 8). A retrospective detailed review of patient charts and imaging was carried out. RESULTS: Previous COVID-19 vaccination was documented in 6 patients (75%) and previous COVID-19 infection and vaccination in 2 patients (25%). Demographic features included mean age of 59 years (median 68, range 5-86 years), white race (n = 7, 87%), and male sex (n = 5, 63%). Mean visual acuity at presentation was 0.24 LogMAR (median 0.18, range 0.0-0.70). The main presenting symptom was blurred vision with pain (n = 5, 63%). Features that suggested scleritis and not uveal melanoma included pain (n = 6, 75%), anterior scleritis (n = 3, 38%), disc oedema (n = 1, 13%), choroidal detachment (n = 3, 38%), choroidal folds (n = 3, 38%), diffusely thickened scleral wall on ultrasonography (n = 2, 25%), Tenon's oedema (n = 5, 63%), and scleral nodule with medium/high internal reflectivity on ultrasonography (n = 4, 50%). Follow-up information at mean of 2 months (range 0.25-7 months) revealed visual acuity at date last seen was mean 0.30 LogMAR (median 0.29, range 0.0-0.54). By 2 months, resolution of "tumour" was noted in 5/6 (83%) patients with follow-up. CONCLUSIONS: Posterior scleritis following COVID-19 vaccination and/or infection can masquerade as choroidal melanoma. At 2 months duration, partial or complete resolution of features with minimal visual consequence was noted.

The SARS-CoV-2 main protease (Mpro ) holds significant importance as a biological target in combating coronaviruses due to its importance in virus replication. Considering the emergence of novel SARS-CoV-2 variants and the mutations observed in the Mpro sequence, we hypothesized that these mutations may have a potential impact on the protease's specificity. To test this, we expressed Mpro corresponding to the original strain and variants Beta1, Beta2, and Omicron and analyzed their activity on protein-based and peptide substrates. Although we observed differential activity on the protein-based substrate, there was very little difference when analyzed on the peptide substrate. We conclude that mutations on the Mpro sequence, despite having a minor effect on a peptide substrate cleavage, did not change the catalytic site environment enough to build resistance to inhibition. Therefore, we propose that inhibitors initially designed for the Mpro of the original strain will be effective in all the variants. Thus, Mpro is likely to continue to be a target of therapeutic interest as mutations in its sequence are rare and, as we show here, have a minor effect on the protease's recognition of peptide-based molecules.

ABSTRACT

Muscle spindles encode mechanosensory information by mechanisms that remain only partially understood. Their complexity is expressed in mounting evidence of various molecular mechanisms that play essential roles in muscle mechanics, mechanotransduction and intrinsic modulation of muscle spindle firing behaviour. Biophysical modelling provides a tractable approach to achieve more comprehensive mechanistic understanding of such complex systems that would be difficult/impossible by more traditional, reductionist means. Our objective here was to construct the first integrative biophysical model of muscle spindle firing. We leveraged current knowledge of muscle spindle neuroanatomy and in vivo electrophysiology to develop and validate a biophysical model that reproduces key in vivo muscle spindle encoding characteristics. Crucially, to our knowledge, this is the first computational model of mammalian muscle spindle that integrates the asymmetric distribution of known voltage-gated ion channels (VGCs) with neuronal architecture to generate realistic firing profiles, both of which seem likely to be of great biophysical importance. Results predict that particular features of neuronal architecture regulate specific characteristics of Ia encoding. Computational simulations also predict that the asymmetric distribution and ratios of VGCs is a complementary and, in some instances, orthogonal means to regulate Ia encoding. These results generate testable hypotheses and highlight the integral role of peripheral neuronal structure and ion channel composition and distribution in somatosensory signalling.

OBJECTIVE: To assess the association of skin color using Fitzpatrick Skin Type (FST) with metastatic risk of uveal melanoma. SUBJECTS: 854 consecutive patients with uveal melanoma and documented FST. METHODS: Retrospective detailed review of patient charts was performed for FST (type I- white, II-fair, III-average, IV-light brown, V-brown, VI-black), clinical details of the patient and the uveal melanoma, tumor cytogenetic classification according to The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), and outcome of melanoma-related metastasis and death. RESULTS: The FST classification was type I (n = 97 patients), type II (n = 665), type III (n = 79), type IV (n = 11), type V (n = 2), type VI (n = 0). A comparison of patient FST (type I vs. II vs. III-V) revealed significant differences in mean age at presentation (64.1 vs. 58.5 vs. 49.8 years, p < 0.001), race white (100% vs. 98% vs. 75%, p < 0.001), presence of ocular melanocytosis (3% vs. 3% vs. 10%, p = 0.01), visual acuity <20/200 at presentation (6% vs. 7% vs. 13%, p = 0.03), genetic results showing TCGA group B tumors (11% vs. 14% vs. 26%, p = 0.01) or TCGA group D tumors (22% vs. 11% vs. 9%, p = 0.01), 10-year incidence of melanoma-related metastasis (25% vs. 15% vs. 14%, p = 0.02) and 10-year incidence of melanoma-related death (9% vs. 3% vs. 4%, p = 0.04). FST was a significant predictor of melanoma-related metastasis (p = 0.02, Hazard ratio 2.3). CONCLUSIONS: Fitzpatrick skin type may be a predictor of melanoma-related metastasis, with metastasis and TCGA Group D tumors being more common in patients with FST I.

ABSTRACT

A rapid untargeted UHPLC-Q-TOF-ESI-MS/MS-Based metabolomic profiling of the medicinal plant Entada abyssinica was performed. A total of 18 metabolites were detected, of which 10 could not be identified. Based on this result, an extensive chemical investigation of the CH2Cl2-MeOH (1:1) extract of this plant was carried out, leading to the isolation of a new ceramide, named entadamide (1), together with nine known compounds: monomethyl kolavate (2), 24-hydroxytormentic acid (3) chondrillasterol (4), 3-O-ß-D glucopyranosylstigmasterol (5), 3-O-ß-D glucopyranosylsitosterol (6), quercetin 3'-methylether (7), 2,3-dihydroxypropyl icosanoate (8), 2,3-dihydroxy-propyl 23-hydroxytricosanoate (9) and 2,3-dihydroxy-propyl 24-hydroxytetracosanoate (10). Their structures were elucidated by the analyses of their spectroscopic and spectrometric data (1D and 2D NMR, and HRESI-MS) in comparison with those reported in the literature. Furthermore, the crude extract and some isolated compounds were tested against non-ciprofloxacin resistant strains viz, Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 27853), Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922), Samonella thyphi (ATCC 19430) and Samonella enterica (NR4294). The tested samples demonstrated significant activity against all the tested bacteria (MIC values: 3.12-12.5 µg/mL).

ABSTRACT

Borneo was a crossroad of ancient dispersals, with some of the earliest Southeast Asian human remains and rock art. The island is home to traditionally hunter-gatherer Punan communities, whose origins, whether of subsistence reversion or long-term foraging, are unclear. The connection between its past and present-day agriculturalist inhabitants, who currently speak Austronesian languages and have composite and complex genetic ancestry, is equally opaque. Here, we analyze the genetic ancestry of the northeastern Bornean Punan Batu (who still practice some mobile hunting and gathering), Tubu, and Aput. We find deep ancestry connections, with a shared Asian signal outgrouping modern and ancient Austronesian-ancestry proxies, suggesting a time depth of more than 7,500 years. They also largely lack the mainland Southeast Asian signals of agricultural Borneans, who are themselves genetically heterogeneous. Our results support long-term inhabitation of Borneo by some Punan ancestors and reveal unexpected complexity in the origins and dispersal of Austronesian-expansion-related ancestry.

ABSTRACT

Many proinflammatory proteins are released via the necrotic form of cell death known as pyroptosis. Sometimes known as gasdermin D (GSDMD) dependent cell death, pyroptosis results from the formation of pores in the plasma membrane leading to eventual cell lysis. Seeking to understand the magnitude of this cell lysis we measured the size of proteins released during pyroptosis. We demonstrate that there is no restriction on the size of soluble proteins released during pyroptosis even at early timepoints. However, even though large molecules can exit the dying cell, organelles are retained within it. This observation indicates that complete cell rupture may not be a consequence of pyroptosis, and that plasma membrane architecture is retained.

ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and questioning (LGBQ) adolescents are particularly at risk for suicidal ideation; however, little clinical research is focused on treating this population. Attachment-based family therapy (ABFT) is among the few empirically supported youth suicide treatments adapted for LGBQ adolescents. The purpose of this exploratory study is to determine the differential treatment effects and rates of change for LGBQ and heterosexual adolescents with depression and suicidal ideation receiving either ABFT or family enhanced nondirective supportive therapy (FE-NST). METHOD: The sample included 129 adolescents (31% LGBQ), ages 12-18 randomized to the two treatment groups. Multilevel modeling was used to examine individual changes in depression and suicidal ideation over the 16-week treatment. RESULTS: Results revealed that LGBQ adolescents in the ABFT condition showed a greater rate of reduction in depressive symptoms over treatment, slope = -0.94, p < 0.001, than did LGBQ adolescents in the NST condition, slope = -0.41, p = 0.12. Heterosexual adolescents showed symptom reduction in both treatment conditions (ABFT slope = -0.47, p < 0.001; NST slope = -0.79, t (113) = -7.48, p < 0.001). Changes in suicidal ideation were found across time, but not across conditions. CONCLUSION: LGBQ adolescents in the ABFT condition had a sharper decrease in depressive symptoms and better outcomes at week 16.

ABSTRACT

AIMS: Stanniocalcin-2 (STC2) has recently been implicated in human muscle mass variability by genetic analysis. Biochemically, STC2 inhibits the proteolytic activity of the metalloproteinase PAPP-A, which promotes muscle growth by upregulating the insulin-like growth factor (IGF) axis. The aim was to examine if STC2 affects skeletal muscle mass and to assess how the IGF axis mediates muscle hypertrophy induced by functional overload. METHODS: We compared muscle mass and muscle fiber morphology between Stc2-/- (n = 21) and wild-type (n = 15) mice. We then quantified IGF1, IGF2, IGF binding proteins -4 and -5 (IGFBP-4, IGFBP-5), PAPP-A and STC2 in plantaris muscles of wild-type mice subjected to 4-week unilateral overload (n = 14). RESULTS: Stc2-/- mice showed up to 10% larger muscle mass compared with wild-type mice. This increase was mediated by greater cross-sectional area of muscle fibers. Overload increased plantaris mass and components of the IGF axis, including quantities of IGF1 (by 2.41-fold, p = 0.0117), IGF2 (1.70-fold, p = 0.0461), IGFBP-4 (1.48-fold, p = 0.0268), PAPP-A (1.30-fold, p = 0.0154) and STC2 (1.28-fold, p = 0.019). CONCLUSION: Here we provide evidence that STC2 is an inhibitor of muscle growth upregulated, along with other components of the IGF axis, during overload-induced muscle hypertrophy.

ABSTRACT

Purpose: Retinal vein occlusion (RVO) is a sight-threatening condition typically treated with intravitreal injection of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) antagonists. Treatment response to anti-VEGF therapies is highly variable, with poor visual outcomes and treatment response in patients with significant retinal nonperfusion following RVO. Recently, caspase-9 has been identified as a potent regulator of edema, gliosis, and neuronal dysfunction during acute retinal hypoxia. The purpose of this study was to compare the therapeutic effect of caspase-9 inhibition against VEGF-neutralization in an established mouse model of RVO. Methods: Adult male C57Bl/6 J mice were randomized to induction of RVO and treatment with either vehicle, intravitreal injection of anti-VEGF antibody, topical administration of a selective caspase-9 inhibitor (Pen1-XBir3), or a combination therapy. Animals were followed on days 1, 2, and 8 after RVO with fundus retinal imaging, and with optical coherence tomography (OCT) to capture retinal swelling, capillary nonperfusion (measured by disorganization of retinal inner layers, DRIL), hyperreflective foci (HRF), and retinal atrophy. Focal electroretinography (ERG) measurements were performed on day 7. Histology was performed on retinal sections from day 8. Results: Both VEGF neutralization and caspase-9 inhibition showed significant retinal protection from RVO compared to vehicle treatment arm. Retinal reperfusion of occluded veins was accelerated in eyes receiving caspase-9 inhibitor, but not significantly different from vehicle in the anti-VEGF group. Retinal edema was suppressed in all treatment groups, with approximately 2-fold greater edema reduction with caspase-9 inhibition compared to VEGF neutralization. HRF were reduced similarly across all treatment groups compared to vehicle. Retinal detachment was reduced only in eyes treated with caspase-9 inhibitor monotherapy. Caspase-9 inhibition reduced retinal atrophy and preserved ERG response; VEGF neutralization did not prevent neurodegeneration following RVO. Conclusion: Caspase-9 inhibition confers stronger neuronal and vascular protection compared to VEGF neutralization in the mouse laser-induced model of RVO.

ABSTRACT

Pulmonary vein stenosis (PVS) can arise from several etiologies, including congenital, acquired, and iatrogenic sources. PVS presents insidiously, leading to significant delays in diagnosis. A high index of suspicion and dedicated noninvasive evaluation are key to diagnosis. Once diagnosed, both noninvasive and invasive evaluation may afford further insights into the relative contribution of PVS to symptoms. Treatment of underlying reversible pathologies coupled with transcatheter balloon angioplasty and stenting for persistent severe stenoses are established approaches. Ongoing refinements in diagnostic modalities, interventional approaches, postintervention monitoring, and medical therapies hold promise to further improve patient outcomes.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The present study tested the validity and clinical utility of adolescents' reports of two distinct modes of processing during the recall of a suicidal episode in the Suicide Narrative Interview (SNI). Recall Intensity (RI) items were designed to capture a tendency to become immersed in thoughts and feelings during the interview, while Meaning Making (MM) items were designed to assess more distant and reflective processing. METHOD: The construct and predictive validity of pretreatment MM and RI was tested in a 16-week randomized clinical trial (RCT) for depressed and suicidal adolescents (N = 113, Mage = 14.95, 84.1% female, 51.8% Black/African American). Adolescents rated MM and RI immediately following the SNI during a baseline assessment. RESULTS: Baseline MM was associated with protective factors related to reduced suicidality, and RI was associated with several risk factors for suicidal symptoms. Adolescents who reported high MM and low RI reported greater reductions in both suicidal ideation and depressive symptoms during the RCT. CONCLUSIONS: The results support MM and RI as two distinct modes of how adolescents process memories of suicidal episodes and highlight the potential clinical utility of RI and MM in assessing and treating suicidal adolescents.
