ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Aescuven forte on treating elderly patients with scrotal edema. Methods Eighty-two patients with scrotal edema were randomly divided into control group and treatment group(41cases for each group). Patients in the control group received physical therapy as well as oral Furosemide tablets for 20 mg and 2 times/ d,while in treatment group were given 450 mg oral Aescuven forte (2 times/ d),and 300 mg Aescuven forte at 10 d besides the treatment as the control group. The total treatment period was 20 days. The information of scrotal volume, score of discomfort or pain, scrotal ulcer healing time were collected. Results After 20 d treatment, the scrotal diameter in treatment group was(7. 81 ± 0. 64)cm,shorter than that before treatment(13. 30 ± 0. 73)cm,and the difference was statistically significant( t = 2. 201,P 0. 05). After treatment, the level of pain and discomfort, voiding symptoms, life quality score were(7. 35 ± 3. 08),(3. 43 ± 1. 91),(5. 89 ± 2. 11),lower than those in the control group((8. 47 ± 3. 07),(4. 52 ± 2. 19),(6. 96 ± 2. 13)),and the differences were statistically significant (t = 2. 260,2. 382,2. 319,P < 0. 05). The total effective rate of treatment group was 87. 8%(36 / 41),higher than that in control group(65. 8%(27 / 41)),and there was significant difference(χ2 = 4. 580,P < 0. 01). In the periods of treatment,no adverse reaction between two groups was occurred. Conclusion The use of Aescuven forte combine with diuretic has a synergistic effect and significantly improve the clinical symptoms of elderly patients with scrotal edema in terms of eliminating edema, promoting healing, relieving scrotal ulcer wound pain, improving voiding symptoms and the quality of life. And there is no side effect.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo analyze the clinicopathologic characteristics and survival of ethnic minority female patients with triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Methods The clinicopathological characteristics, including age at diagnosis, size of tumor mass, lymphnode involvement, adjuvant therapy, recurrence of disease and survival of patient,of 48 ethnic minority patient cases with TNBC negative for estrogen receptor (ER),progesterone receptor (PR) and human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (Her-2) were analyzed, whom were treated in our hospital from January 2001 to December 2005,including age at diagnosis, size of tumor mass, lymph node involvement, adjuvant therapy, recurrence of disease and survival of patients.ResultsOf the 48 patients, median age was 47 years, and 83.3 % (39 cases) of patients had stage Ⅱ or Ⅲ disease. The majority(85.4 %,41 cases)of pathological types were grade Ⅱ or Ⅲ invasive ductal carcinomas, and lymph node involvement was detected in 56.2 % (27 cases) of these patients at initial diagnosis.46 patients were followed and had adjuvant therapy.Tumor-free survival and overall survival at 5 years were 43.5 % (20/46) and 52.2 % (24/46),respectively.Patients with lymph node involved had only 38.5 % (10/46) of overall survival at 5 years.ConclusionThe incidence of triple negative breast cancer of female patients in Xinjiang multiple minority groups is similar to domestic study, and the rates of over all survival is lower than that in Han Chinese patients. The female patients with TNBC in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region multiple minority groups showed higher lymph node involvement at initial diagnosis and more distal metastasis.Patients with lymph node involved had poor survival.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the effect of radiotherapy and chemoradiotherapy in patients with esophageal cancer and analyze the associated factors of surviving with esophageal patients. Methods 60 cases were retrospectively analyzed in the study. They were divided into two groups according to the treatment methods, radiotherapy(RT)group and chemoraidiotherapy(CRT)group. The group CRT was divided into concurrent chemoraidiotherapy(CCRT)group and sequence chemoraidiotherapy(SCRT)group. The group RT and group CRT all use 6mvX line conventional therapy, common fraction 200 Gy/f,DT 60 to 70 Gy,Group CRT combine the chemotherapy concurrent or after radiotherapy. Results The 1,2,3 year survival rate of the group CRT and the group RT are 73.30%,46.70%,16.67%and 60.30%,16.67%,6.67% respectively,2 year survival of group CRT is beaer than group RT(P<0.05).(2)The 1,2,3 year survival rate of the group SCRT and CCRT are 88.89%,55.55%,22.22% and 84.21%,47.37%,15.79% respectively. The short-term side-effect is more serious, the patients could bear. The prognosis of the esophageal carcinoma is closely associated with treatment methods and clinical stage. Conclusion Chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy for advanced esophageal cancer improved the survival.Chemoradiotherapy is an effective treatment for advanced esophageal carcinoma, diagnosis and treatments in early stage are especially important.
