ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: The implementation of Sharia Model Childbirth (SMC) is in accordance with Fatwa Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) no l07/DSN-MUI/X/2016 on the practice of sharia principles in health services. Sharia services in hospitals are general. This SMC innovation is specific and comprehensive, covering prenatal, delivery and postnatal. This model was implemented in 2017 but has never been qualitatively evaluated. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the application of SMC in the maternity services from the perspective of midwives and staff of the Islamic service unit. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Applied qualitative research was conducted from 5 December 2021 to 31 January 2022. In-person in-depth interviews were conducted using semi-structured interview guidelines. Informants were taken from the midwives of the maternity room and the Islamic service installation until a fair saturation of data was achieved. Observational and documentation were conducted for the validity of the data. The data were analyzed thematically and presented in themes and sub-themes. RESULTS: The results of the study were on the work procedures implemented, and the obstacles and shortcomings found. Most of the procedures and accompanying regulations had been implemented. Participants revealed obstacles and shortcomings in this innovative program. The major obstacle found was that the patient's right to choose a female medical officer was not fulfilled because of the type of teaching hospital it was and the lack of female medical staff. The shortcomings were in the reading of prayers and remembrances, the understanding of the contents of the manual, and the design of the delivery room, which did not maintain privacy. CONCLUSION: Overall, SMC is being implemented, but there are obstacles and shortcomings in the implementation. Solutions and regulations in sharia services should urgently be found and enforced. The deficiencies in this innovative program must be corrected immediately.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: We provide an overview of the safety of messenger RNA and inactivated coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine and monitoring of pregnant women after COVID-19 vaccination. The vaccine safety outcome profile is beneficial for further recommendations of COVID-19 vaccination in pregnancy. METHODS: This research was conducted as descriptive research. Sampling was performed using an online questionnaire to be filled out voluntarily and distributed to all pregnant women in Indonesia who received the COVID-19 vaccination. Data collection was performed and descriptive statistics were obtained. RESULTS: Among 31 977 pregnant women, 24 212 (75.7%) received the first dose, 7619 (23.8%) received the second dose, and 146 (4.5%) received the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Sinovac vaccine is the most administered vaccine to pregnant women (27 122 [84%]). Most pregnant women (78.7%) who were vaccinated had no adverse effects after immunization, while the most reported adverse effects were mild symptoms. CONCLUSION: The current study contributed evidence that COVID-19 vaccination during pregnancy has minimal adverse effects. These findings may help pregnant women and healthcare providers to make informed decisions regarding vaccination.

ABSTRACT

The positive impact of sports education programmes in promoting the physical and emotional well-being of students has been firmly proven. However, it is important to comprehend the aspects that lead to student happiness in these programmes in order to guarantee successful execution and favourable results. The present study seeks to examine the impact of instructor empathy, system quality, and reputation on student happiness within the context of sports education programmes offered in high schools in Indonesia. The Privietlab Research Institute administered an online questionnaire to students, resulting in the collection of 364 valid responses. The data was analysed and the study hypotheses were tested using structural equation modelling (SEM). The results of the study indicate that there is a strong and positive relationship between instructor empathy and system quality on reputation. Additionally, reputation was found to have a major beneficial influence on student satisfaction. The findings highlight the significance of instructor empathy, system quality, and reputation in augmenting student satisfaction within sports education programs. Therefore, this research offers significant contributions for educators, school administrators, and policymakers, underscoring the importance of prioritizing these aspects in order to guarantee a superior sports education experience for children in Indonesia.(AU)

ABSTRACT

Bicornis unicollis uterus is a rare congenital uterine abnormality that occurs due to the failure of Mullerian duct fusion early in the development of the female internal genitalia system. In this case report, we present a woman with bicornis unicollis uterus who had preterm birth. A 30-year-old female patient with two caesarean sections history with premature babies was presented to the hospital with a complaint of regular contractions for twelve hours in her third preterm pregnancy. The patient has no particular symptoms besides acute abdominal pain. The ultrasonography examination indicated a uterus didelphys with breech presentation fetus. Due to the patient's caesarean history and the fetal presentation, an emergency caesarean section was decided and performed. It was found that the gravid uterus was on the left and the baby was subsequently delivered with a complete placenta. Postoperative condition of the patient was shown to be stable while the baby underwent an intensive care at the neonatal intensive care unit. This case report highlights that early diagnosis in this rare case is critical since bicornis unicollis uterus are mostly asymptomatic. Caesarean section was chosen in the present case based on consideration of the fetal and maternal clinical conditions.
