ABSTRACT

Cholelithiasis in paediatrics is a pathology that has a low incidence. Diagnosis is usually made by chance as it is mostly asymptomatic. Chest pain as presenting symptom is rare. The most commonly used diagnostic method is abdominal ultrasound due to its high specificity and sensitivity. Treatment depends on the characteristics of the patient, and both medical and surgical options may be considered. (AU)

ABSTRACT

Afecta a íleon distal, ciego o colon ascendente.

Distal intestinal obstruction syndrome (SOID) is a digestive complication specific of patients with cystic fibrosis, characterized by the accumulation of viscous fecal matter and thick secretions. It can lead to the appearance of total or partial intestinal obstruction, affecting the distal ileum, cecum, or ascending colon. For its treatment, it is suggested the administration of oral polyethylene glycol or through a nasogastric tube. Surgery is reserved for refractory cases. (AU)

ABSTRACT

In this cohort of 42 adolescents with a previous multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS-C) diagnosis, 32 (76.2%) were vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines, with a low incidence of relevant adverse events. More importantly, no new MIS-C or myocarditis occurred after a median of 10 weeks (range 5.3-19.7) post-vaccination.
