ABSTRACT

Disorder is the primary obstacle in the current Majorana nanowire experiments. Reducing disorder or achieving ballistic transport is thus of paramount importance. In clean and ballistic nanowire devices, quantized conductance is expected, with plateau quality serving as a benchmark for disorder assessment. Here, we introduce ballistic PbTe nanowire devices grown by using the selective-area-growth (SAG) technique. Quantized conductance plateaus in units of 2e2/h are observed at zero magnetic field. This observation represents an advancement in diminishing disorder within SAG nanowires as most of the previously studied SAG nanowires (InSb or InAs) have not exhibited zero-field ballistic transport. Notably, the plateau values indicate that the ubiquitous valley degeneracy in PbTe is lifted in nanowire devices. This degeneracy lifting addresses an additional concern in the pursuit of Majorana realization. Moreover, these ballistic PbTe nanowires may enable the search for clean signatures of the spin-orbit helical gap in future devices.

ABSTRACT

To understand the status of heavy metals in soils of typical industrial and mining towns and quantitatively analyze the potential sources, the contents of seven heavy metals (Cd, As, Pb, Cr, Cu, Ni, and Zn) in 150 surface soils in Xuanhua District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province were collected and examined. The geoaccumulation index and potential ecological risk index methods were used to evaluate the heavy metal pollution status and potential ecological risk. Principal component analysis (PCA) and the positive matrix factorization (PMF) model were used to comprehensively analyze the pollution sources of seven heavy metals, and geostatistics was used to identify the high contribution areas of potential sources. The results revealed that:① the average values of heavy metals in the study area ranged from 0.23-103.34 mg·kg-1, among which the average contents of Cd, Pb, Cu, and Zn were higher than the soil background value of Hebei Province. ② The results of the geoaccumulation and potential ecological risk indices demonstrated that the degree of pollution of the seven heavy metals was in the following order:Cd>Pb>Cu>Zn>Ni>As>Cr, the content of Cd in 16% sites was above a moderate pollution level, and the potential ecological risk of heavy metals in more than 95% sites was at a light risk level. ③ The main sources of accumulation of the seven heavy metals in the study area were combined sources of industry and traffic, natural sources, and agricultural sources, with their contribution rates of 33.1%, 48.7%, and 18.2%, respectively. Among them, Cd, Pb, Cu, and Zn were primarily affected by the combined sources of industry and transportation; Cr, Ni, and As were mainly affected by natural sources, whereas Cd and some As were affected by agricultural sources. The organic combination of PCA, PMF model, and geostatistical methods confirmed the results of each analysis, which increased the reliability of the analytical results of heavy metal sources.

ABSTRACT

In order to understand the heavy metal pollution of the industrial and mining area in northern Guangdong Province, topsoil samples (0-20 cm) from 209 sites in study area were collected, and the concentrations of As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb, and Zn were analyzed. The source and distribution characteristics of Cd, Cr, Hg, Ni, Pb, As, Cu, and Zn in soil samples were analyzed using the geographic information system (GIS) and principal component analysis (PCA), and the geo-accumulation index and potential ecological hazard index were used to evaluate their pollution status and ecological risk. The results showed that:① Except Ni, all seven heavy metal elements exceeded the national soil background value but were below the pollution risk screening value. The soil environment as a whole was relatively clean. ② The spatial distribution of heavy metals in soil differed. The contents of As and Pb showed northwest-southeast zonal distribution. The contents of Cd, Cu, Hg, and Zn generally decreased from the middle to the surrounding, which was consistent with the industrial and mining enterprise locations. However, the spatial distribution of Cr and Ni had no direct relationship with the location of pollution sources such as industrial enterprises. ③ The eight heavy metals could be identified as three principal components (PCs). PC1 (Cd, Cu, Pb, and Zn) was mainly affected by human activities such as lead-zinc deposit dressing, traffic emissions, and agricultural production. However, PC2 (Cr and Ni) was a natural source, mainly affected by soil parent material. In addition, PC3 (As and Hg) was mainly affected by industrial activities such as non-ferrous metal smelting and thermal power generation. ④ According to the geo-accumulation index method, the risk degree of the eight heavy metals was:Cd>As>Zn>Hg>Pb>Cu>Cr=Ni. The contents of Cr and Ni in soil were at a no-risk level; the contents of As, Cu, Hg, Pb, and Zn were at a low-risk level; and the content of Cd was at a high-risk level. Most potential ecological hazards for single elements in the study area were at a mild risk level. In contrast, a small proportion of the surface soils in areas of intense industrial activity were subject to substantial levels of heavy metal stress and require further attention.

ABSTRACT

Intersphincteric resection (ISR) has been performed as an ultimate sphincter-sparing strategy in selected patients with low rectal cancer. Accumulating evidence suggests that ISR may be an interesting alternative to abdominoperineal resection to avoid a permanent stoma without compromising oncological outcomes. However, bowel dysfunction is a most common consequence of ISR not to be neglected. To date, limited clinical research has reported functional and quality of life outcomes according to patient-reported outcome measures. Also, data concerning management of low anterior resection syndrome are scarce due to lack of quality evidence. Therefore, this review provides an up-to-date summary of systematic assessment (including function, quality of life, manometry and morphology) and bowel rehabilitation for ISR patients. Postoperative anal function is often assessed by a combination of scales, including the Incontinence Assessment Scale, the Gastrointestinal Function Questionnaire, the Specific LARS Assessment Scale and the Faecal Diary. The condition-specific Quality of Life Scale is more appropriate for Quality-of-life measures in fecal incontinence after ISR. Patients' physiological function after ISR can be assessed using water- or high-resolution solid-state anorectal manometry. Anatomical and morphological changes can be assessed using defecography and 3D endorectal ultrasound. Electrical stimulation and biofeedback, pelvic floor exercises, rectal balloon training, transanal irrigation and sacral neuromodulation are all options for post-operative rehabilitation.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To compare the predictive efficacy of the two thrombosis risk assessment scores (Padua and IMPEDE scores) in venous thromboembolism (VTE) within 6 months in patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM) in China. Methods: This study reviewed the clinical data of 421 patients with NDMM hospitalized in Beijing Jishuitan Hospital from April 2014 to February 2022. The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, and Youden index of the two scores were calculated to quantify the thrombus risk assessment of VTE by the Padua and IMPEDE scores. The receiver operating characteristics curves of the two evaluation scores were drawn. Results: The incidence of VTE was 14.73%. The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, and Youden index of the Padua score were 100%, 0%, 14.7%, and 0% and that of the IMPEDE score was 79%, 44%, 49.2%, and 23%, respectively. The areas under the curve of Padua and IMPEDE risk assessment scores were 0.591 and 0.722, respectively. Conclusion: IMPEDE score is suitable for predicting VTE within 6 months in patients with NDMM.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate the expression of pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2) in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) in myeloma bone disease (MBD) and its effect on osteogenic and adipogenic differentiation of BMSCs.@*METHODS@#BMSCs were isolated from bone marrow of five patients with multiple myeloma (MM) (MM group) and five with iron deficiency anemia (control group) for culture and identification. The expression of PKM2 protein were compared between the two groups. The differences between osteogenic and adipogenic differentiation of BMSCs were assessed by using alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and oil red O staining, and detecting marker genes of osteogenesis and adipogenesis. The effect of MM cell line (RPMI-8226) and BMSCs co-culture on the expression of PKM2 was explored. Functional analysis was performed to investigate the correlations of PKM2 expression of MM-derived BMSCs with osteogenic and adipogenic differentiation by employing PKM2 activator and inhibitor. The role of orlistat was explored in regulating PKM2 expression, osteogenic and adipogenic differentiation of MM-derived BMSCs.@*RESULTS@#Compared with control, MM-originated BMSCs possessed the ability of increased adipogenic and decreased osteogenic differentiation, and higher level of PKM2 protein. Co-culture of MM cells with BMSCs markedly up-regulated the expression of PKM2 of BMSCs. Up-regulation of PKM2 expression could promote adipogenic differentiation and inhibit osteogenic differentiation of MM-derived BMSCs, while down-regulation of PKM2 showed opposite effect. Orlistat significantly promoted osteogenic differentiation in MM-derived BMSCs via inhibiting the expression of PKM2.@*CONCLUSION@#The overexpression of PKM2 can induce the inhibition of osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs in MBD. Orlistat can promote the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs via inhibiting the expression of PKM2, indicating a potential novel agent of anti-MBD therapy.

ABSTRACT

This paper compared the differences between two kinds of Bufonis Venenum produced by Bufo gargarizans gargarizans and B. gararizans andrewsi, and verified the rationality of the market value orientation of Bufonis Venenum based on the zebrafish mo-del. Twenty batches of Bufonis Venenum from Jiangsu province, Hebei province, Liaoning province, Jilin province, and Liangshan, Sichuan province, including B. gargarizans gargarizans and B. gararizans andrewsi, were collected. The UHPLC-LTQ-Orbitrap-MS combined with principal component analysis was used to compare the differences between two kinds of Bufonis Venenum. According to the limiting conditions of VIP>1, FC<0.5 or FC>2.0, and peak total area ratio>1%, 9 differential markers were determined, which were cinobufagin, cinobufotalin, arenobufagin, resibufogenin, scillaredin A, resibufagin, 3-(N-suberoylargininyl)-arenobufagin, 3-(N-suberoylargininyl)-marinobufagin, and 3-(N-suberoylargininyl)-resibufogenin. The content of 20 batches of Bufonis Venenum was determined according to the Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2020 edition) by high-performance liquid chromatography, and the 2 batches of Bufonis Venenum, CS7(8.99% of total content) and CS9(5.03% of total content), with the largest difference in the total content of the three quality control indexes of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia(bufalin, cinobufagin, and resibufogenin) were selected to evaluate their anti-liver tumor activity based on the zebrafish model. The tumor inhibition rates of the 2 batches were 38.06% and 45.29%, respectively, proving that only using the quality control indexes of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia as the value orientation of Bufonis Venenum market circulation was unreasonable. This research provides data support for the effective utilization of Bufonis Venenum resources and the establishment of a rational quality evaluation system of Bufonis Venenum.

ABSTRACT

Eleven compounds were isolated from the 95% ethanol extract of the stems of Dendrobium officinale after water extraction by various modern chromatographic techniques, such as silica gel column chromatography(CC), octadecyl-silica(ODS) CC, Sephadex LH-20 CC, preparative thin layer chromatography(PTLC) and preparative high performance liquid chromatography(PHPLC). According to spectroscopic analyses(MS, 1D-NMR, 2D-NMR) combined with optical rotation data and calculated electronic circular dichroism(ECD), their structures were identified as dendrocandin Y(1), 4,4'-dihydroxybibenzyl(2), 3-hydroxy-4',5-dimethoxybibenzyl(3), 3,3'-dihydroxy-5-methoxybibenzyl(4), 3-hydroxy-3',4',5-trimethoxybibenzyl(5), crepidatin(6), alternariol(7), 4-hydroxy-3-methoxypropiophenone(8), 3-hydroxy-4,5-dimethoxypropiophenone(9), auriculatum A(10) and hyperalcohol(11). Among them, compound 1 was a new bibenzyl derivative; compounds 2 and 7-11 have not been previously reported from Dendrobium plants; compound 6 was reported from D.officinale for the first time. Compounds 3-6 exhibited potent antioxidant activity with IC_(50) values of 3.11-9.05 μmol·L~(-1) in ABTS radical scavenging assay. Compound 4 showed significant inhibitory effect on α-glucosidase, with IC_(50) value of 17.42 μmol·L~(-1), indicating that it boasted hypoglycemic activity.

ABSTRACT

Eight heterocyclic compounds and twelve phenolic glycosides were separated from the water extract of Dendrobium officinale flowers through chromatographic techniques, such as Diaion HP-20 macroporous adsorption resin column chromatography(CC), silica gel CC, ODS CC, Sephadex LH-20 CC, and preparative high performance liquid chromatography(PHPLC). According to the spectroscopic analyses(MS, ~1H-NMR, and ~(13)C-NMR) and optical rotation data, the compounds were identified as dendrofurfural A(1), 2'-deoxyadenosine(2), 4-[2-formyl-5-(hydroxymethyl)-1H-pyrrol-1-yl] butanoic acid(3), 4-[2-formyl-5-(methoxymethyl)-1H-pyrrol-1-yl] butanoic acid(4), 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-5-(methoxymethyl)-1H-pyrrole-2-carbaldehyde(5), 5-(methoxymethyl)-1H-pyrrole-2-carbaldehyde(6), methyl 5-(hydroxymethyl)-furan-2-carboxylate(7),(S)-5-hydroxymethyl-5H-furan-2-one(8), 2-methoxyphenyl-1-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(9), arbutin(10), isotachioside(11), 2,6-dimethoxy-4-hydroxyphenol-1-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(12), orcinol glucoside(13), tachioside(14), gastrodin(15), 4-O-β-D-glucopyranosylvanillyl alcohol(16), 2,6-dimethoxy-4-hydroxymethylphenol-1-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(17), icariside D_2(18), 4-formylphenyl-β-D-glucopyranoside(19), and vanillin-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(20). Among them, compound 1 is a new furfural benzyl alcohol condensate, with the skeleton first found in Dendrobium. Compounds 2-9, 11, 13, and 19 are reported from Dendrobium for the first time, and compounds 14 and 18 are reported for the first time from D. officinale. Compounds 11 and 14 showed moderate DPPH radical scavenging capacity, and compounds 11-14 demonstrated potent ABTS radical scavenging capacity, possessing antioxidant activity.

ABSTRACT

The association between socioeconomic status (SES) and bone mineral density (BMD) in men remains controversial. We showed that SES was positively associated with BMD in American men. Confounding factors like race/ethnicity and age could affect the association. INTRODUCTION: Based on the data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), 2011-2020, this article aims to investigate the association of SES (poverty income ratio (PIR) and education level) with the BMD in American men. METHODS: We evaluated the association of SES with BMD in 4446 men aged ≥ 20 years (mean age, 41.0 ± 13.4 years) from the NHANES 2011-2020. BMD was measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) at the lumbar spine. We used multivariate linear regression models to examine the relationship between SES and total spine BMD, adjusted for a large range of confounding factors. RESULTS: Compared with other PIR quarters, individuals in the highest quarter of PIR were more likely to be older and white and had fewer smoking or drinking behaviors. After adjusting for race/ethnicity, age, drinking and smoking behavior, body mass index (BMI), total protein, serum calcium, serum uric acid, cholesterol, serum phosphorus, and blood urea nitrogen, PIR was positively correlated with total spine BMD (ß = 0.004 95% CI: 0.001-0.007, P = 0.006). Individuals with the highest degree (college degree or above) had a 0.057 g/cm2 greater BMD than that of the lowest degree (less than 9th grade) (ß = 0.057 95% CI: 0.037-0.077, P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Our study indicates that SES was positively associated with the lumbar BMD among American men. Clinicians, healthcare providers, and policymakers should consider the unequal SES of men when implementing osteoporosis prevention and treatment strategies.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: Due to age and gender, patients awaiting total knee or hip arthroplasty (TKA/THA) are at a higher risk of osteoporosis. In joint arthroplasty, low bone mineral density (BMD) is a risk factor for implant osseointegration, durability, and prosthesis complications. This study aims to investigate the prevalence and treatment rate of osteoporosis in patients undergoing total joint arthroplasty (TJA). METHODS: We applied a comprehensive literature search through PubMed, Cochrane Library, and EMBASE from inception to July 10, 2021, for studies investigating the prevalence and treatment rate of osteoporosis in TJA patients. The aggregated prevalence was calculated with the random-effects model, and the heterogeneity between studies was checked by Cochran's Q test and quantified by the I2 statistic. We performed subgroup analyses and meta-regression analyses to determine the source of heterogeneity. Publication bias was assessed by a funnel plot and verified by Egger's test. Anti-osteoporosis treatment for TJA patients was described qualitatively and quantitatively. RESULTS: Of 4561 citations identified by the search strategy, 11 studies including 3462 patients were eligible for inclusion. The pooled prevalence of osteoporosis and osteopenia in TJA patients was 24.8% (95%CI: 14.1-37.2%) and 38.5% (95%CI: 29.3-48.0%), respectively. The prevalence of osteoporosis/osteopenia in TJA patients was 64.0% (95%CI: 45.8-80.3%). In terms of gender, the pooled prevalence of osteoporosis in males, females, and postmenopausal females were 5.5% (95%CI: 1.5-11.4%), 29.0% (95%CI: 18.3-41.1%), and 38.3% (95%CI: 13.2-67.1%), respectively. The treatment rate of osteoporosis in TJA patients was 32.9% (95%CI: 15.2-53.1%) by a random-effects model. CONCLUSIONS: Osteoporosis is highly prevalent in patients undergoing TJA, especially in postmenopausal females. However, the treatment rate of osteoporosis is low. Considering the possibility of surgical complications, clinicians should strengthen their awareness of pre-operative BMD assessment and manage osteoporosis in high-risk patients.

BACKGROUND: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a kind of chronic disease relating to joints, which seriously affectsthe daily life activities of the elderly and can also lead to disability. However, the pathogenesis of OA is still unclear, which leads to limited treatment and the therapeutic effect far from people's expectations. This study aims to filter out key genes in the pathogenesis of OA and explore their potential role in the occurrence and development of OA. METHODS: The dataset of GSE117999 was obtained and analyzed in order to identify the differentially expressed genes (DEGs), hub genes and key genes. We also identified potential miRNAs which may play a major role in the pathogenesis of OA, and verified their difference in OA by real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR). DGldb was found to serve as an indicator to identify drugs with potential therapeutic effects on key genes and Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis was used for identifying underlying biomarkers of OA. RESULTS: We identified ten key genes, including MDM2, RB1, EGFR, ESR1, UBE2E3, WWP1, BCL2, OAS2, TYMS and MSH2. Then, we identified hsa-mir-3613-3p, hsa-mir-548e-5p and hsamir- 5692a to be potentially related to key genes. In addition, RT-qPCR confirmed the differential expression of identified genes in mouse cartilage with or without OA. We then identified Etoposide and Everolimus, which were potentially specific to the most key genes. Finally, we speculated that ESR1 might be a potential biomarker of OA. CONCLUSION: In this study, potential key genes related to OA and their biological functions were identified, and their potential application value in the diagnosis and treatment of OA has been demonstrated, which will help us to improve the therapeutic effect of OA.

BACKGROUND: The optimal treatment of Pauwels type III femoral neck fracture (FNF) in young patients remains a worldwide challenge in orthopedic surgery. METHODS: Finite element models of four internal fixations were developed to treat Pauwels type III FNF: a: the traditional inverted triangular parallel cannulated screw (PCS) model, b: the F-technique cannulated screw model, c: the modified F-technique cannulated screw model using a fully threaded screw instead of a partially threaded distally, d: the dynamic hip screw coupled with derotational screw (DHS + DS) model. Under the same conditions, finite element analyses were carried out to compare the displacement and von Mises stress distribution of four internal fixations and femurs, the maximum crack distances of the fracture surfaces, Z axis displacements of four models as well as the stress distribution in the subtrochanteric region. RESULTS: The modified F-technique configuration resulted in a more stable fixation as compared to the other three configurations, with respect to the maximum displacement and stress peaks of femur and internal fixations, the maximum crack distances of the fracture surfaces, Z axis displacements of four configurations as well as the stress distribution in the subtrochanteric region. CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggested that modified F-technique configuration show a better performance in resisting shearing and rotational forces in treating Pauwels type III FNF compared to those using traditional inverted triangular PCS, the F-technique configuration or DHS + DS, providing a new choice for the treatment of FNFs.

ABSTRACT

AIMS: The prostate transmembrane protein, androgen induced 1 (PMEPA1) is differentially expressed in pan-cancer. However, PMEPA1 specific role in cancers has not been fully clarified. This study aims to explore the potential role of Pmepa1 in pan-cancer and specific cancer, with a view to deepening the research on the pathological mechanism of cancer. MAIN METHODS: The Perl language and R language were used to identify the correlation between PMEPA1 expression level and clinical indicators, prognosis values, tumor microenvironment, immune cells' infiltration, immune checkpoint genes, TMB and MSI. The Therapeutic Target Database was used for identifying potential therapeutic drugs that target the pathways that are significantly affected by PMEPA1 expression. KEY FINDINGS: PMEPA1 differential expression significantly correlated with patients' age, race, tumors' stage and status. PMEPA1 high expression was closely correlated with poor prognosis in many cancer types, excluding prostate adenocarcinoma. PMEPA1 expression was closely related to tumor cells and the immune microenvironment in stromal and immune cells' level, immune cells' infiltration, immune checkpoint genes, tumor mutational burden and microsatellite instability. We also found that the activity of the olfactory transduction pathway was closely related to PMEPA1 expression. In pan-cancer, Trifluoperazine and Halofantrine have the potential to reduce PMEPA1 expression. SIGNIFICANCE: This study integrated existing data to explore PMEPA1 potential function in cancers, provided insights for the future cancer-related studies.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: AdipoR2, which belongs to the seven-transmembrane-domain receptor family, has been shown to play an important role in the development of human tumours, but the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood. In this study, we found that AdipoR2 expression correlates with glioma grade. In addition, we also investigated the mechanisms behind the antiproliferative effects of AdipoR2 in U251 cells (a human glioma cell line) using colony formation and WST-8 growth assays. METHODS: The U251 cell line was cultured in vitro. Western blotting was used to detect the expression of relevant proteins. Quantitative RT-PCR was used to detect AdipoR1 and AdipoR2 expression. Flow cytometry was used to detect cell cycle assay results. The gene expression profiles of glioma samples from the CGGA database were analysed by MATLAB and GSEA software. RESULTS: The AMPK/mTOR pathway plays a central role in the regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation and migration and may promote tumorigenesis. Therefore, we can control cancer progression by modulating the AMPK/mTOR pathway. However, there is no information on the relationship between AdipoR and AMPK/mTOR in central nervous system tumours such as GBM. In this study. We found 648 upregulated genes and 436 downregulated genes correlated with AdipoR2 expression in 158 glioma samples. GSEA suggested that AdipoR2 is a cell cycle-associated gene. The results of the flow cytometry analysis indicated that AdipoR2 induced G0/G1 cell cycle arrest in U251 cells. Furthermore, we identified the AMPK/mTOR signalling axis to be involved in AdipoR2-induced cell cycle arrest. CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that AdipoR2 may represent a novel endogenous negative regulator of GBM cell proliferation. These findings also suggest that AdipoR2 may be a promising therapeutic target in GBM patients.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disease that seriously affects the quality of life of elderly. Regrettably, the pathological mechanism for OA has not yet been fully elucidated. METHODS: This study is committed to distinguishing key genes and the underlying mechanisms for OA. Raw data was acquired from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. We identified differentially expressed genes (DEGs), hub genes, and key genes through bioinformatics analysis. Subsequently, we predicted the microRNAs (miRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs) associated with these key genes that may play key roles in OA using web tools. We also constructed a protein- drug network and found potentially effective drugs by analyzing the relationships between the drugs and the key genes. RESULTS: The analysis revealed 360 DEGs, 24 hub genes, and 15 key genes enriched in many categories potentially related to the pathological mechanism of OA. hsa-miR-29a-3p, hsa-miR-29b-3p, and hsa-miR-29c-3p were predicted to be important miRNAs for OA, while hsa_circ_0025119, hsa_circ_0025113, hsa_circ_0009897, and hsa_circ_0002447 were predicted to be the most important circRNAs. Further studies indicated that Ocriplasmin and Collagenase clostridium histolyticum may be effective drugs for the treatment of OA. Finally, CD34 and VWF were inferred to be the most meaningful biomarkers for OA. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, we determined the underlying key genes, miRNAs, and circRNAs for OA, predicted potentially effective drugs, and identified the most meaningful biomarkers for the disease. Our findings may provide insight into the pathological mechanism of OA and guide future research.

ABSTRACT

Objective In 2019, Laboratory of Shanghai Chongming Center for Disease Control and Prevention participated in national assessment of individual dose monitoring capability. By analyzing the results, this report summarizes the experience and shortcomings that will help improve the individual dose monitoring capability of the laboratory. Methods According to the requirements of the national assessment scheme for individual dose monitoring capacity in 2019, the assessment process and results were sorted out and analyzed one by one. Results The single group performance deviations(Pi values)between the measured values and references of the five groups were -0.04, -0.07, -0.05, -0.04 and -0.06, respectively. The overall bias(B value)of all groups was 0.003. According to the judgment standards, both the single group performance and overall performance were all qualified. Conclusion The individual dose monitoring system of the laboratory meets the requirements of the relevant national standards. The individual dose monitoring capability can be further improved by strengthening the quality control of the relevant procedures of the assessment.
