ABSTRACT

In the preoperative period ischemic patients show a significant increase in thrombodynamic properties of fibrin clots. It is more than at a half of patients in the presurgical period as in an arterial, and venus blood the spontaneous growth of a clot comes to light that is practically not observed at healthy people. In the early postoperative period ischemic patients demonstrate a general sharp decrease in thrombodynamic properties of fibrin clots, but in arterial blood, as opposed to venous blood, such properties sharply grow. Based on the data obtained it may be concluded that in ischemic patients venous blood levels cannot be used as a judgement for arterial blood fibrin clot properties.

ABSTRACT

The study of 25 patients with periodontitis showed that the level of heat shock protein-70 (HSP70) and IL-1Β, IL-8 was increased in serum, buccal and gingival fluids as compared with healthy individuals, as well as the serum level of IgG autoantibodies both to HSP70 and to cytokines. In oral and gingival fluids sIgA autoantibodies to the same antigens were found. It was suggested that these autoantibodies can eliminate HSP-70 pro-inflammatory cytokines, thus regulating their levels in the inflammation area.

ABSTRACT

The authors present a method for experimental reproduction of stages of the acute respiratory distress syndrome development, including the initial stage - acute pulmonary injury. Concentrated neutrophil transmitters served as the factor triggering the development of the process. The adequacy of the model was confirmed by the clear-cut morphological stages of the process. The possibility of reproducing the syndrome by injection of concentrated neutrophil transmitters confirmed their leading role in impairment of the alveolar capillary membrane.

ABSTRACT

Cytokines level and cytokines antibodies in the blood serum, oral and gingival fluids was studied in 15 patients with odontogenic maxillofacial abscesses. Increased level of the inflammatory cytokines (IL1ß, IL6, IL8) and decreased level of the anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL4, IL10) in oral and dentigingival fluids. Besides, increased content of autoantibodies of class sIgA to IL8 and decreased content of autoantibodies of class sIgA to IL10 was noted.

ABSTRACT

Improving the status of elderly patients with diabetes mellitus is an important issue of gerontology and geriatrics. This work was aimed at the study of the effect of thymomimetic Vilon on the immune status and coagulation hemostasis in elderly patients with type I diabetes mellitus. It was found that the administration of Vilon as an addition to the complex therapy for this cohort of patients resulted in optimization of coagulation hemostasis, which was manifested in the increased content of natural anticoagulants: antithrombin III and protein C, as well as in the stimulation of fibrinolysis. In most cases Vilon reduced the dose of insulin necessary for the stabilization of carbohydrate metabolism. The content of T-helpers, T-dependent and non-T-dependent NK cells was reduced, and the level of active T-lymphocytes, B-lymphocytes and IgA was normalized, which points out the stabilizing effect of Vilon on the immune system and hemostasis.

ABSTRACT

Questionnaire (asthenia MFI) survey of 2043 patients early in rehabilitation after ischemic stroke in the territory of the carotid arteries was made. Asthenia was detected in 81% patients with elevated total score, physical, psychic asthenia, hypoactivity and low motivation. Asthenia was secondary and correlated with social maladaptation. Rehabilitation in a specialized neurological department of health resort Ust-Kachka leads to positive changes in the above indices.
