ABSTRACT
PIP: A group of 500 women was observed during 9656 cycles. The patients represented various types of IUDs. 400 of them wore the Copper T 200 and the remaining 100 a plastic-only Dana-Lux type. In both groups, the Pearl coefficient was compared; it was lower in the Copper T carriers (1.41) in comparison with the plain plastic IUD (1.66). The patients in the 1st group had fewer complaints and tolerance was better than in the 2nd group. An insignificant % of complications in the Copper T group makes the application of this type of IUD reasonable in routine practice. (Author's modified)^ieng
