ABSTRACT
An elderly man presented to the acute ear, nose and throat (ENT) services with a history of intermittent, self-limiting facial nerve palsy. Full ENT examination was normal, with all cranial nerves and peripheral neurology intact. Multiple imaging modalities suggested an aggressive bony lesion, secondary to locally advanced prostate malignancy with extensive metastatic infiltration. Prostate cancer is known to preferentially metastasise to bone and has been known to cause multiple cranial nerve palsies and ophthalmoplegia. This is the first case described in the literature of metastatic prostate cancer presenting with intermittent facial nerve palsy.

The paper emphasizes on the importance of a complete clinical skin inspection by all andrological patients. In a three year period (1985-1987) 4779 patients were newly seen in the department of andrology. 575 (12,03%) out of the above mentioned group showed clinical skin. Taking the clinic, localisation and age into consideration we make a detailed presentation of the various skin diseases caused by mycotic infections. The results strengthen the necessity of a complete inspection of the skin in all andrological cases. It should be not allowed exclusively to investigate the area of the external genitals.

From a group of 100 patients with more than 5% round-head spermatozoa in their ejaculate a comparism was set up against another control group in order to show the special relationships to the other morphological parameters. Emphasis is laid on the detailed morphological differentiation. Demonstration of four characteristic cases of interest.
