ABSTRACT

Isolated pulmonary actinomycosis is a rare entity. Its clinical features and radiological findings are nonspecific, making early diagnosis difficult for clinicians. We report a case of 40-year-old nonsmoker, immunocompetent male without an underlying structural lung disease who presented to us with recurrent hemoptysis and was diagnosed to have Actinomycosis after multiple readmissions.

ABSTRACT

The objective of this study was to report a case of central pontine and extrapontine myelinolysis in a child, a rare neurological disorder. A diagnosis of demyelination carries important therapeutic and prognostic implications. In most cases, the diagnosis is made clinically and confirmed radiologically. Treatment should be initiated sincerely as severe cases have a dismal prognosis.

ABSTRACT

Hernia of Morgagni occurs through an anterior defect in the diaphragm. Symptoms of these hernias are attributable to the herniated viscera. In our case, there was partial obstruction due to herniation of the distal stomach and pylorus into the right hemithorax that was reduced surgically through a right thoracolapaorotomy. Of special emphasis are the various modalities used to diagnose this condition in our case.

ABSTRACT

Mucoepidermoid lung tumours are uncommon neoplasms comprising of 0.2% of all the lung tumours and historically included under the term bronchial adenomas. This is a case report of a bronchial tumour in the hilar region present since 3 years. The neoplasm could be easily classified as a mucoepidermoid tumour of low malignant potential, as it resembled the histologically identical lesion in the main salivary glands. The case is reported for its rarity and for the histological evaluation of the malignant potential in an apparently clinically benign neoplasm.
