ABSTRACT

PIP: 133 healthy patients were clinically observed for hypogalactia and divided into 3 groups. The first group of 54 seriously hypogalactic mothers and 43 hypogalactic mothers was treated with Moloco, a new placenta-extract preparation. The 2nd group of 5 seriously hypogalactic mothers and 5 moderately hypogalactic mothers were treated with placebo only. The babies of the 3rd group of seriously hypogalactic mothers were bottle fed. All babies were weighted before and after every feeding during the whole period of treatment. Results showed that Moloco actively stimulated mammary gland functions, especially in serious cases of hypogalactia, in some of which the amount of milk secreted after a month of treatment was 428% of that secreted before treatment. Babies of mothers treated with Moloco showed an increase in weight superior to that of bottle fed babies.^ieng
