ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The aim: To determine the level of motivation for learning and professional development among 6th-year students of the medical faculty. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: Included a comparative analysis of contemporary scientific psychological-pedagogical works on this issue and questionnaire surveys. The research design involved the use of psychological diagnostic testing methods by A.O. Rean, V.O. Yakunin, and K. Zamfir in the modification by A.O. Rean. RESULTS: Results: When studying the levels of motivation for acquiring knowledge in students from the two investigated groups, differences were found in the inter-pretation and perception of motivation content. For the first group, the main motivation is the possibility of becoming a highly qualified specialist, while for the second group, it is to ensure the success of their future profession. However, both groups of students have high levels of internal motivation. The main reason for the difference in attitudes toward the learning process is the different motivational complexes in students, which determine a different hierarchy of motives in the studied groups in achieving the goal of becoming a doctor, albeit through different means (due to a greater influence of internal negative motivation, especially in the second group). CONCLUSION: Conclusions: The main motivation for students of the first group to study is the opportunity to become a highly qualified specialist, while for students of the second group, it is to ensure the success of their future professional activity, primarily through high levels of internal motivation. The effectiveness of the educational process and the future development as a doctor are determined by the type of their motivational complex. Taking this into account can serve as the main reserve of motivation for students and be useful in developing measures to attract and retain medical personnel.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The aim: To identify positions that are relevant for practical use in improving the process of human resource management in healthcare. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: Comparative analysis of motivation theories. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: Human resources are a key intangible resource of a society or any organization. In today's post-industrial society, the development of a knowl¬edge-based economy with the introduction of innovative technologies, principles of teamwork; improving the educational, cultural and qualification level of employees, democratization of socio-economic life in the country against the background of increasing population mobility and competition in the context of globalization, sets requirements for human resource management in such an important area as health care, in particular, in terms of activities to increase their motivation. Understanding the essence of motivation theories proves that people have different needs, so knowledge of different motivation theories can be used to manage medical staff.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The aim: Defining the role of health workers and problems in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, outlining ways to protect health and safety in the workplace. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: The following methods were used: content analysis of international and domestic legal documents of state and sectoral level on the problem of functioning and social protection of medical and social workers in the COVID-19 pandemic and statistical reporting on the dynamics of their number and wages. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: With the advent of COVID-19, tensions in the work of medical staff have increased, which has contributed to a reduction in the number of health workers in Ukraine due to death, permanent disability, termination / change of professional activity and migration of medical personnel. It has been found that the slow growth of wages is inadequate to carry out socially necessary activities with a risk to life and health. Fair pay for health and social workers is a necessary but not sufficient component of measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic at the present stage. The International Year of Health and Social Workers should be an opportunity to draw attention to the need to increase investment in education, training and social protection of these professionals and to minimize the risks posed by the pandemic to the economy and development of countries and people's lives.
