ABSTRACT

95 patients with postthrombophlebitis affection of the lower limbs were treated according to three schemes: conventional therapy alone (anticoagulants, anti-inflammatory therapy, etc.), training of collateral circulation plus minimal standard chemotherapy, training of collateral circulation plus local and endovasal laser radiation plus minimal standard chemotherapy. A total of 75 patients were treated (27, 32 and 36 patients of group 1, 2 and 3, respectively). The best results were achieved in group 3.

ABSTRACT

The results of treatment of 639 patients with acute esophagogastroduodenal bleeding have been analysed. There were the following causes of bleeding: in 66.4%--ulcer disease, in 9.1%--gastric tumours, in 7.3%--erosive gastritis, in 6.4%--portal hypertension, in 9.1%--the other. In 1.7% of patients, a cause was not established. Conservative treatment was performed in 59% of patients, surgery--in 41%. Complications developed in 24.9% of the patients, 8.6% died.

ABSTRACT

The results of 308 emergency (61%) and elective (39%) simultaneous operative interventions, comprising 2.2% of the total number of operations for 10 years, are presented. In performing the simultaneous operations for strict indications, the risk of intervention increases insignificantly. The incidence of postoperative complications and lethality after such interventions do not exceed the corresponding indices after similar operations, but performed separately.

ABSTRACT

Results of rightsided hemicolectomy performed in 23 patients using the compression suture with the help of apparatus AKA-2 and apparatus NZhKA-60 supplied with silicon paddings are described. The use of compression sutures have considerably shortened the time of formation of anastomosis and large intestine stump and allowed to standardize the technical methods of the operation. The ideal union of the sutured intestinal walls, antiseptic condition of the operation, high hermetic property facilitated the healing of anastomoses and the stump by first intention. The proposed method gives better functional results due to advantages of the compression method of joining the tissues.

ABSTRACT

An analysis of 14565 operations on organs of the abdominal cavity has shown that main causes of early relaparotomies were peritonites (47,4%), intestinal obstruction (33,3%), eventration of the abdominal organs (16,0%) and hemoperitoneum (3,3%). The highest lethality was after postoperative peritonitis (54,1%). For the recent 10 years the total lethality has become 31,6% lower due to better diagnosis and early relaparotomies.

ABSTRACT

The article describes results of the experimental and clinical application of the suturing apparatus AKA-2 forming compression anastomoses on the colon with the help of connecting rings. The results obtained enabled the authors to recommend the suturing apparatus AKA-2 for clinical use. Experience with using the apparatus AKA-2 in several medical institutions in 225 operations on the colon has shown the apparatus to be reliable and to considerably facilitate the creation of anastomoses in operations on the colon and rectum.
