ABSTRACT

AIM: To study etiology, clinico-laboratory characteristics and early prognosis of reactive arthritis developing after respiratory infections (priReA). MATERIAL AND METHODS: Blood samples from 69 priReA patients aged 17-45 years were examined for specific antibodies to 28 bacterial and viral infectious agents, and antigens of group HLA-B7-CREG (B7, B13, B22, B27, B40, B73, Cw2). The test were made in hospital and 3 months after the patients' discharge. RESULTS: The priReA respiratory etiology was discovered in 31 patients, urogenital--in 14 cases and enterocolitic one--in 7 patients. Streptococcus and pneumoneal chlamydia cause priReA most frequently. HLA-B40 carriers are more predisposed to priReA. priReA runs with less frequent Reiter's syndrome and lesions of axial and extraarticular structures, better early prognosis. CONCLUSION: In young patients with early ReA respiratory etiology is observed more frequently than urogenital and enterocolitic ones. Compared to other kinds of ReA, priReA demonstrates some genetic, clinical and prognostic peculiarities.

ABSTRACT

When studying the process of cleaning from HBsAg of 43 women, discovered as carriers during 8 1.m. is found essential continuity of persisting of the antigen from 1 to 6 years. The full cleaning from the antigen is found in 13 women (30.23%) and in the other 30 (69.77%) is found lasting persisting as of HBsAg and of the other markers of viral hepatitis B and viral hepatitis D. In the enlarged serological investigation for presence of the markers of viral hepatitis B and viral hepatitis D and complex clinical and paraclinical investigation is found that in the form of carriers of HBsAg are hidden different manifestations of the hepatitis B and hepatitis D viral infection--starting stages of viral hepatitis B, acute or chronic hepatitis B and hepatitis D viral infection and passed hepatitis B and hepatitis D viral infection. The obtained results allow to be admitted that women carriers of HBsAg appear to be potential sources of infection from viral hepatitis B and viral hepatitis D.

ABSTRACT

59 children, born to mothers--carriers of HBsAg were immunized with hepatitis B vaccine (Gen HB-VAX) and hepatic B immunoglobulin (H-BIG) during 1988 in the municipality of Pleven. The results showed that GEN H-B-VAX possessed high immunological and epidemiological effect, manifested by the presence of anti-HBs in all examined children one month after conclusion of immunization. No diseases due to virus hepatitis B as well as persisting antigenemia were observed during the indicated 7-month period. Simultaneously there were one case with virus hepatitis B and 6 cases with persisting antigenemia in the control group of newborn infants.
