ABSTRACT

Although it is important to examine how creative performance can be achieved by facilitating knowledge sharing activities among its members, few studies have examined these relationships. Therefore, this study analyzed the effects of coworkers' helping behavior on knowledge sharing and creativity. It also attempted to demonstrate the moderating role of interactional justice as a situational variable that positively affects coworkers' helping behavior. Using data from 200 full-time supervisor-subordinate dyads in a large public institution located in South Korea, we performed multiple regression analysis and the bootstrapping method to test our hypotheses. The results of this study presented that coworkers' helping behavior encouraged individuals to share knowledge and increase their creative performance. Moreover, this study demonstrated that the positive effect of coworkers' helping behavior on employees' creativity through their knowledge sharing was stronger when interactional justice was high rather than low. Therefore, this research contributes to finding the critical factors that enable a company to gain a competitive advantage by providing the impact of coworkers' helping behavior and supervisors' interactional justice on knowledge sharing and creativity among employees.

ABSTRACT

A modular approach to polycyclic N-fused heteroaromatics is described. Acid-catalyzed reactions of various 1-(2-oxo-2-arylethyl)-1H-pyrrole-2-carbaldehydes with several o-phenylenediamines provided facile access to a number of new benzo[d]imidazole-pyrrolo[1,2-a]pyrazine hybrid structures through double cyclodehydration and aromatization. Optical characterization of the synthesized compounds revealed unique emission properties, with deep blue emission in the aggregated and solid states, and a dramatic substituent effect was observed. Fusion of an additional benzene ring into the benzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-a]pyrrolo[2,1-c]pyrazine scaffold resulted in a remarkable increase in the intensity of blue fluorescence from the solution along with good cell permeability and negligible phototoxicity, indicating the potential for bioimaging applications.

ABSTRACT

This paper proposes an automatic method to separate the gingiva and individual teeth from a dental mesh. We define a transverse plane that produces a cross-section of tooth lingual and labial surfaces, preserving the shape of individual teeth. The upper vertices from the transverse plane, which belong to the tooth, are projected onto the transverse plane, and partitioned into individual teeth. We apply region growing to the remaining non-segmented parts to determine the cluster the vertices belong to, and the proposed approach is fully automatic, i.e., segmentation does not require user interaction for feature point search or tooth boundary markers. The proposed segmentation method is applied to several dental mesh models to demonstrate its robustness.
