ABSTRACT

Clinical course of the burn disease of a severe, or extremely severe degree was studied in 56 children aging from 1 to 5 years. It was established that intensity of a leukocytic reaction and the redistribution reactions of neutrophil granulocytes with different activity of myeloperoxidase objectively reflected the course of a pathologic process, permitted to predict the development of local and general infective complications, and to make up a rational program for treatment with differentiated use of the methods of detoxication and immunotherapy. Activity of acid phosphatase and content of PAS-positive substances in neutrophil granulocytes didn't correlated with severity of the course of the burn disease.

ABSTRACT

Antiproteic donor plasma was included into the complex of treatment of 54 severely burned children, who had their clinical state, immunologic and hematologic indices been studied. A pronounced therapeutic effect of antiproteic immunotherapy was noted.

ABSTRACT

In severely burned children, depending on severity of injury, the anti-triptic activity of blood serum, alpha 2-macroglobulin level, fibronectin, activity of an arginase decrease at the acute period of toxemia and septic toxemia. The content of the products of fibrin-fibrinogen degradation increases considerably. Alteration of the indices studied is of informative value and is associated with dynamics of the toxic syndrome development. Use of donor antiproteic plasma has a positive therapeutic effect.

ABSTRACT

Extracorporeal connection of a porcine spleen (ECCPS) was used in 36 patients ranging in age from 14 to 60 years with a IIIAB-IV degree burn of from 30 to 80% of a body surface. The clinical signs of infective complications were the indication for ECCPS. The immunomodulating effect of ECCPS in burn septicotoxemia and normalizing effect on the morphofunctional state of neutrophil granulocytes without normalization of cellular immunity in toxemia was established.

ABSTRACT

In examination of 27 children at the acute period of the burn disease, a reduction of the factors of cellular and humoral immunity by the T-independent type with activation of autoimmune processes, which define the development of pronounced humoral reaction, was established. Three variants of the course of a wound process in children, depending on the type of cellular reactions, were distinguished.
