ABSTRACT

Using clinico-psychopathological methods of examination the authors studied 93 schizophrenics with a delirious variant of the Kandinsky-Clérambaut syndrome who had committed violent antisocial actions (VAA). It has been ascertained that peculiarities of the clinical course at the time when the VAA was committed reflect the stages of the development of the syndrome: the initial stage, the stage of delirious personification of psychic automatisms and the stage of involution of the delirious variant of the Kandinsky-Clérambaut syndrome. It has been established that the more acute the psychosis the higher the significance in the psychopathological mechanisms of VAA of clinical manifestations of the syndrome and lower the role of social and personality factors.

ABSTRACT

Clinical examination of 106 patients with acute alcoholic psychoses has shown a definite effect of neuroleptic therapy with phenothiazine drugs on the pathomorphosis of psychotic attacks. It has been found that the main direction of the therapeutic pathomorphosis in the studied group is the appearance in the structure of attacks of the alternately changing main forms of alcoholic psychoses-delirium, verbal hallucinosis, and paranoid, as well as an increase in the number of patients with consciousness disturbances of delirious or delirious-oneiric type by the end of the attack. Positive results of the use of eglonyl in the treatment of acute alcoholic hallucinosis are presented.

ABSTRACT

On the basis of examination of 50 alcoholics the authors have established that alcoholism is associated with impairments of the aggregational properties of blood erythrocytes expressed in a persistent and marked increase of aggregation and the appearance of enlarged massive aggregates. The severity of aggregation disturbances depends not only on the presence of the abstinence syndrome but is also closely related to the stage of alcoholism, becoming more gross in the progressive course with signs of encephalopathy, and directly correlates with severity of psychotic symptoms.

ABSTRACT

An examination of 348 patients with alcoholic delirium permitted to detect the main directions in the evolutional variability of the clinical picture. The authors distinguished 3 types in the development of a delirium: short-term with a complete and incomplete (abortive) variant; typical delirium with mono-and polymorphic structure of the syndrome; a protracted development in the form of a severe psychoses of a complex structure and a sluggish protracted variant with an obliviated symptomatology.
