ABSTRACT

Physiotherapeutic methods of therapy were used in complex treatment of 839 from 1435 patients with lactic mastitis diadynamic currents, high frequent ultrasound, ultraviolet irradiation of the wounds, UHF, local oxygen therapy of the wounds combined with UVI. Comparative data of the results of the treatment methods evidence that the most efficient in local treatment are to be ultrasound and oxygen therapy of the mammary glands combined with ultraviolet irradiation.

ABSTRACT

A method of local oxygenation of wounds of the mammary glands in combination with UV irradiation with the help of the device proposed by the authors was used in the complex treatment of 72 patients with purulent lactation mastitis. The curative effect resulted from a considerable elevation of oxygen saturation of the mammary gland tissues which reduced tissue hypoxia, better microcirculation which results in the accelerated process of regeneration of the wounds. UV irradiation exerts bactericidal effect on microflora of the wounds.

ABSTRACT

On 82 patients with suppurative puerperal mastitis, in 25 (30.5%) the disorders in function of the cardiovascular system were revealed. The disorders directly depended on the severity of the disease. After the therapy carried out with inclusion of the drugs improving myocardial metabolism, in repeated ECG, the significant positive dynamics was noted.

ABSTRACT

Vaccination activity and safety of inactivated influenza centrifugal divaccine have been studied in groups of subjects aged 18 to 22, 15 to 16, and 9 to 14 years. The vaccine tested contained either a standard dose (6-8 micrograms) or double a dose (12-16 micrograms) of the haemagglutinin (HA) of influenza viruses A(H1N1) and A(H3N2). The double antigenic load of the vaccine did not enhance its reactogenicity for adults or adolescents aged 15 to 16 years. It enhanced, however, the production of antihaemagglutinine antibodies to the vaccine strains. The range of the antibodies formed and their persistence were independent on the virus dose. The increased dose (12-16 micrograms) of HA decreased the humoral immune response in school children aged from 11 to 14 years. Neither standard nor double dose of the vaccine caused any changes in the biochemical or haematological parameters of blood and urine. No allergic response was registered by the indirect mast cell degranulation (IMCD) test in rats.

ABSTRACT

On the basis of studying protein metabolism in 89 patients with suppurative lactation mastitis it was shown that the concentration of total protein in blood serum did not depend on the degree of the clinical course of the disease, the substantial changes in protein fractions being in direct relation to the degree of the clinical severity of the disease.

ABSTRACT

Experimental batches of adsorbed subunit influenza vaccine were prepared from the envelope of glycoprotein antigens separated from the influenza virion by treatment with a cationic detergent (cetyltrimethylammonium bromide). Purified and concentrated influenza virus strains A(H1N1) and A(H3N2) were obtained by gradient centrifugation; additional purification, with a view to removing ovalbumin and structural components of the chorioallantoic membrane, was achieved by gelfiltration. The composition and biological properties of the vaccine are described.

ABSTRACT

In patients with purulent lactation mastitis the authors have revealed a shift in the wound media pH from the acid media in the phase of inflammation to alkaline media in the regeneration phase. The unceasing control of the medium pH changes facilitates the active influence upon the development of the wound pyo-inflammatory process in order to shorten time of treatment of patients. The application of ultrasound for the treatment of patients with purulent lactation mastitis results in more rapid healing of the wound.

ABSTRACT

Differential diagnosis of acute appendicitis and acute gynecological diseases frequently presents great difficulties since they often have similar symptoms. The attention of nubile women should be given to gynecological anamnesis, vaginal and rectal methods of examination in admission. In certain cases women admitted with the diagnosis of acute appendicitis, should be dynamically observed. When necessary, a repeated gynecological examination must be made. With symptoms of acute appendicitis and internal hemorrhage the laparotomy by Lennard's incision of inferio-median laparotomy is indicated. The process with secondary changes during extrauterine pregnancy should be ablated.

ABSTRACT

The capacity of influenza virion 4S RNA for serving as low-molecular primer has been studied in RNA-directed DNA synthesis catalyzed in vitro by reverse transcriptase of avian myeloblastosis virus. 4S RNA purified by 8% polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis has been shown to stimulate the reverse transcription reaction in vitro and to be RNA primer. The stimulating activity of the primers has been shown to decrease as follows: 4S nuclear RNA of the rat liver oligo (dT)12-18 4S RNA of influenza virion. the template activity of high molecular weight genome RNA of influenza virion has been demonstrated to be negligible in vitro both in the presence of synthetic and natural primer.
