ABSTRACT
The electrochemical behavior of new electrode materials based on poly-N-phenylanthranilic acid (P-N-PAA) composites with reduced graphene oxide (RGO) was studied for the first time. Two methods of obtaining RGO/P-N-PAA composites were suggested. Hybrid materials were synthesized via in situ oxidative polymerization of N-phenylanthranilic acid (N-PAA) in the presence of graphene oxide (GO) (RGO/P-N-PAA-1), as well as from a P-N-PAA solution in DMF containing GO (RGO/P-N-PAA-2). GO post-reduction in the RGO/P-N-PAA composites was carried out under IR heating. Hybrid electrodes are electroactive layers of RGO/P-N-PAA composites stable suspensions in formic acid (FA) deposited on the glassy carbon (GC) and anodized graphite foil (AGF) surfaces. The roughened surface of the AGF flexible strips provides good adhesion of the electroactive coatings. Specific electrochemical capacitances of AGF-based electrodes depend on the method for the production of electroactive coatings and reach 268, 184, 111 Fâg-1 (RGO/P-N-PAA-1) and 407, 321, 255 Fâg-1 (RGO/P-N-PAA-2.1) at 0.5, 1.5, 3.0 mA·cm-2 in an aprotic electrolyte. Specific weight capacitance values of IR-heated composite coatings decrease as compared to capacitance values of primer coatings and amount to 216, 145, 78 Fâg-1 (RGO/P-N-PAA-1IR) and 377, 291, 200 Fâg-1 (RGO/P-N-PAA-2.1IR). With a decrease in the weight of the applied coating, the specific electrochemical capacitance of the electrodes increases to 752, 524, 329 Fâg-1 (AGF/RGO/P-N-PAA-2.1) and 691, 455, 255 Fâg-1 (AGF/RGO/P-N-PAA-1IR).
ABSTRACT
A one-step preparation method for cobalt- and iron-containing nanomaterials based on poly-N-phenylanthranilic acid (P-N-PAA) and magnetic nanoparticles (MNP) was developed for the first time. To synthesize the MNP/P-N-PAA nanocomposites, the precursor is obtained by dissolving a Co (II) salt in a magnetic fluid based on Fe3O4/P-N-PAA with a core-shell structure. During IR heating of the precursor in an inert atmosphere at T = 700−800 °C, cobalt interacts with Fe3O4 reduction products, which results in the formation of a mixture of spherical Co-Fe, γ-Fe, ß-Co and Fe3C nanoparticles of various sizes in the ranges of 20 < d < 50 nm and 120 < d < 400 nm. The phase composition of the MNP/P-N-PAA nanocomposites depends significantly on the cobalt concentration. The reduction of metals occurs due to the hydrogen released during the dehydrogenation of phenylenamine units of the polymer chain. The introduction of 10−30 wt% cobalt in the composition of nanocomposites leads to a significant increase in the saturation magnetization of MNP/P-N-PAA (MS = 81.58−149.67 emu/g) compared to neat Fe3O4/P-N-PAA (MS = 18.41−27.58 emu/g). The squareness constant of the hysteresis loop is κS = MR/MS = 0.040−0.209. The electrical conductivity of the MNP/P-N-PAA nanomaterials does not depend much on frequency and reaches 1.2 × 10−1 S/cm. In the argon flow at 1000 °C, the residue is 77−88%.
ABSTRACT
Hybrid ternary nanomaterials based on conjugated polymer polydiphenylamine-2-carboxylic acid (PDPAC) (poly-N-phenylanthranilic acid), Fe3O4 nanoparticles and single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) were prepared for the first time. Polymer-metal-carbon Fe3O4/SWCNT/PDPAC nanocomposites were synthesized via in situ oxidative polymerization of diphenylamine-2-carboxylic acid (DPAC) by two different ways: in an acidic medium and in the interfacial process in an alkaline medium. In an alkaline medium (pH 11.4), the entire process of Fe3O4/SWCNT/PDPAC-1 synthesis was carried out in one reaction vessel without intermediate stages of product extraction and purification. In an acidic medium (pH 0.3), to prepare the Fe3O4/SWCNT/PDPAC-2 nanocomposites, prefabricated magnetite nanoparticles were deposited on the surface of obtained SWCNT/PDPAC-2. The phase composition of the nanocomposites does not depend on the synthesis reaction medium pH. The influence of the reaction medium pH on the structure, morphology, thermal, magnetic, and electrical properties of the obtained ternary nanocomposites was studied.
ABSTRACT
Hybrid nanocomposites based on electroactive polydiphenylamine-2-carboxylic acid (PDPAC) and single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) were obtained for the first time. Polymer-carbon nanomaterials were synthesized via in situ oxidative polymerization of diphenylamine-2-carboxylic acid (DPAC) in the presence of SWCNTs by two different ways. Hybrid SWCNT/PDPAC nanocomposites were prepared both in an acidic medium and in the heterophase system in an alkaline medium. In the heterophase system, the monomer and the SWCNTs are in the organic phase (chloroform) and the oxidant (ammonium persulfate) is in an aqueous solution of ammonium hydroxide. The chemical structure, as well as the electrical and thermal properties of the developed SWCNT/PDPAC nanocomposite materials were investigated.
