ABSTRACT

Long-term application of organic and mineral fertilizers can lead to changes in the elemental composition of agroecosystem components. Both the levels of nutrients and potentially toxic elements can change, as can the potential for these elements to be available to plants through changes in soil properties. Soil and plant samples of two species (pea Pisum sativum L. and oat Avena sativa L.) were collected from plots of a long-term field experiment on the application of mineral and organic fertilizers and their combinations to gray forest soils in the Vladimir region, Russia. Soil samples from the 0-20 and 20-40 cm layers were subjected to acid digestion to determine total element content. Mobile forms of elements were extracted from topsoil samples using acetate-ammonium buffer (pH 4.8). Sample preparation of pea and oat plant organs (stems, leaves, pods/ears) included sample digestion in a microwave sample digestion system ETHOS EASY (Milestone, Italy). The elemental composition of the samples was determined by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) using Agilent 5800 ICP-OES (Agilent Technologies, USA). The dataset includes concentration data for 34 elements, including rare earth elements, in these samples collected in 2021. The dataset also contains general agrochemical characteristics of soils of the experimental groups: pH of water and salt suspension, organic carbon content, mobile forms of phosphorus. The data can be valuable to researchers developing fertilizer application systems and modeling changes in the elemental composition of agroecosystems.

ABSTRACT

In 2020, prostate cancer (PCa) ranked third in the structure of the most significant oncological diseases. In the Russian Federation, in terms of the frequency of detection among men, prostate cancer is second only to tumors of the upper respiratory tract and lungs, accounting for 14.9%. Radical prostatectomy (RP) in various modifications is still the most common treatment for localized prostate cancer, despite the existence of alternatives such as active surveillance, hormonal and radiation therapy, cryoablation, and others. And the technological pinnacle of the surgical treatment of prostate cancer at the moment is robot-assisted prostatectomy, the widespread use of which was marked by the publication of J. Binder back in 2002. This technology combined the advantages of minimally invasive laparoscopic RP with improved surgeon ergonomics and technical ease of vesicourethral anastomosis reconstruction and has now become the preferred minimally invasive approach. This article will consider the use of a robot-assisted technique in the stage of T3 prostate cancer.

ABSTRACT

Using the example of a recurrent tumor with a 10-year follow-up, the authors show that mutation of the IDH1/2 genes in astrocytomas is not always an early event in the pathogenesis of glioma, that in rare cases a 1p19q codeletion can be found in astrocytomas, and that IDH-mutant tumors can occur in childhood.

ABSTRACT

DnA methylation has recently been accepted as the most reliable and effective method of diagnosing central nervous system (CNS) tumors. Healthy organs and tumors of different localizations have their own unique methylation structure. Determination of total tumor DNA methylome is the detection of all methylated nucleotides in a tumor. The "gold standard" for analyzing the methylation state of individual cytosines is bisulfite conversion, in which unmethylated cytosines are converted to uracils and read as thymines, while methylated cytosines are protected from conversion.

ABSTRACT

The article describes the effectiveness of the treatment of chronic apical periodontitis in one visit compared to multiple visits. A systematic review of the literature was conducted analyzing articles published on PubMed, Google scholar, ResearchGate and ScienceDirect between 2011 and 2021, treatment effectiveness was the selected outcome variable. A total of 21 articles were selected, 9 of which were selected for detailed review. Chief question in this article was: which treatment approach is more effective? Cleaning, Shaping, disinfecting and obturating in one visit? Or multiple (two) visit protocol? Chronic Apical Periodontitis is treatable in one visit, if done properly. Chronic Apical Periodontitis is treatable in one visit, if done properly, with proper shaping, disinfection, and proper hermetic obturation of the root canal. Bioceramic sealers showed the highest success rate out of all sealers used, the usage of 3-5.25% sodium hydrochloride and 17% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid showed favorable results, although photodynamic therapy and ultrasonic activated irrigation showed outstanding results.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: Evaluation of the comparative effectiveness of various methods of psychological support in the correction of pain syndrome in patients with degenerative-dystrophic diseases of big joints and spine in the process of medical rehabilitation. MATERIAL AND METHODS: In conditions of hospital, the 70 patients with degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the big joints and spine who received drug and non-drug treatment were examined. The dynamics of the psycho-emotional state, subjective assessment of well-being and pain was studied in three groups: the main group (24 patients) where the psycho-correction plan included classes with a medical psychologist using a high-tech VR tool - «Vive Focus Plus EEA virtual reality helmet¼. A comparison group (24 patients) who received a standard format of psychological support within the patient-centered approach. The control group (22 patients) where only psycho-diagnostic measures were carried out. The «Tamp Kinesiophobia Scale¼, «Visual Analogue Scale of Well-Being Evaluation¼, «McGill Pain Questionnaire¼ were used as diagnostic tools. When comparing the effects of the interventions the nociceptive or mixed nature of pain was taken into account. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: It has been shown that psychological support improves the effectiveness of pain therapy while the inclusion of a high-tech VR tool in psycho-correctional programs is expedient for overcoming the fear of movement and pain of neuropathic and mixed genesis but ineffective for relieving nociceptive pain, i.e. pain where there is no psychological component.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this work is to assess the influence, feasibility and effectiveness of glycerin as one of the means that prevent the formation of an oxygen-inhibited layer, to search for the most effective polymerization protocol for the final portion of the composite materialThe prepared carious cavities of the first class were sealed with a composite, then the samples were degreased and dried. Since the dental material is a dielectric material and is highly susceptible to charging under the influence of an electron beam, it was decided to apply a thin (30 nm) layer of platinum to the surface of the objects under study.Studies of the surface of the teeth and the applied composite were carried out using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) Tescan Vega 3 SBH.Based on the essence of the mechanism of formation of the oxygen-inhibited composite layer, polymerization protocols were selected. The samples were divided into 4 groups according to each protocol of finishing processing.Based on the study of the surface of composite restoration using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) Tescan Vega 3 SBH, it is concluded that the most optimal protocol for finishing the restoration is polymerization using means that prevent the formation of an oxygen-inhibited layer, and subsequent finishing treatment. This method allows you to achieve a smooth surface of the composite, the absence of pores and microcracks, high-quality edge fit.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE OF THE STUDY: Studying the contribution of treatment adherence to the effective use of the Visual Medicine hardware and software complex (HSC) in the psychological rehabilitation of stroke patients. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The results of the use of APC in 81 patients undergoing a standard course of medical rehabilitation have been investigated (50 men and 31 women, average age 57.3±11.7 years). Compliance using the psycho-diagnostic questionnaire «Level of Compliance¼, which examines social, emotional and behavioral compliance; the state of higher mental functions (HMF) in dynamics by neuropsychological examination (tests for simultaneous and visual-spatial gnosis, kinesthetic, dynamic, spatial and constructive praxis) are studied. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: It is shown that the use of a hardware-software complex helps to recover motor skills. However, the degree of positive dynamics of changes in the HMF state depends on the contribution of patient adherence to treatment, in particular, their «social compliance¼. It has been established that preventive diagnostics of social compliance at the average level, according to the questionnaire «Level of compliance¼, can be an indication for inclusion in the rehabilitation plan of training sessions with the program «Visual Medicine¼. Deviation towards low or high values signals the appointment of a medical psychologist consultation with the aim of further psychocorrectional work to achieve the optimal level of social compliance.

ABSTRACT

The work highlights the current problems of the relationship between the tonic activity of facial muscles and psychoemotional states. The frequency and severity of psychoemotional conditions and indicators of tonic activity of the facial muscles in 67 healthy women were studied. The currently known methods for the correction of psycho-emotional states based on the feedback mechanism are analyzed. The effectiveness of use of myofascial face massage as an instrument for the correction of psychological status was assessed. The influence of various massage techniques aimed at relaxing facial muscles on the psychoemotional state in the long term has been proved. The most effective tools for correcting muscle tone for the correction of psychoemotional states are proposed.

ABSTRACT

The ratio of the number of protons transported directly by H+-ATPase of intact mitochondria and that of the hydrolyzed ATP (the proton translocation quotient) is determined. A special kinetic method which makes possible determination of ATPase and H+-translocase activities in the same experiment has been used to estimate the proton translocation quotient for mitochondrial H+-ATPase. The quotient is found to be, on average, equal to 3.31 mol/mol. It is shown that the protonophore 3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxybenzylidenemalononitrile can greatly decrease the proton translocation quotient. This supports our assumption concerning a labile coupling between H+-translocase and ATPase in mitochondria [I. A. Gorskaya, K. F. Sholtz, S. A. Moreva, A. V. Kotelnikova (1979) Biochemistry (Engl. Transl. Biokhimiya) 44, 765-770]. A decrease in the translocation quotient in the presence of the protonophore is likely to be due to the ability of this uncoupler to take back the translocated protons into the mitochondrial matrix before their release into the medium. An electrostatic model of the molecular mechanism of H+-translocase and ATPase coupling in the H+-ATPase complex is discussed. The model is in agreement with the results obtained: transport of more than two protons per each hydrolyzed ATP molecule, and variable efficiency of the process.

ABSTRACT

1. Incorporation of [H3]leucine into the TCA insoluble fraction of rat liver mitochondria incubated in vitro is inhibited by uncouplers of oxidative phosphorylation. The inhibition is not correlated with the activation of mitochondrial ATPase. 2. Dependence of mitochondrial protein synthesis on the transmembrane potential is manifested in a wide range of K+ and Mg++ concentrations in the incubation media. 3. The inhibitory action of uncouplers shows a lag period equal to 5-7 minutes, this lag period however is not observed when the uncoupler is added to puromycin-treated mitochondria. 4. Dependence of mitochondrial protein synthesis on the transmembrane potential, which represents a property characteristic for the inner mitochondrial membrane suggests that mitochondrial ribosomes act in close contact with the mitochondrial membrane system.
