ABSTRACT
PIP: Interruption of a pregnancy after the 3rd month is a serious operation. Gravidity up to the 16th week is interrupted by means of vacuum suction. After dilation the amniotic fluid is sucked out and the palcenta removed. The decrease in pressure causes contraction of the uterus and the fetus is then removed with surgical tongs. Interruption after the 16th week is effected according to Aburel. After releasing the greatest amount of amniotic fluid possible, a like volume of 10% NaCl solution plus 100 ml is applied via infusion.^ieng
