In experiments with partial hepatectomy in rats, the application of cresacin was shown to potentiate processes of hepatocyte regeneration, to increase high-energy compounds therein, and to accelerate some phases of mitotic cycle. These processes occur along with an inhibition of lipid peroxidation in hepatocytes, a decrease in the rate of transmembrane oxygen transport in mitochondria, and a reduction of cytochrome oxidase amount. It was concluded that cresacin directly stimulates diverse links of metabolic pathway.

It was shown that isoproxihermatran (IPH) (40 mg/kg) administered intraperitoneally in rats with lobectomy of heparin stimulates development of hepatocytes' dimensions and decrease of oxygen transmission velocity through the mitochondrial membranes in this cells. Antioxidant properties of IPH have been detected. Stimulating activity of IPH at heparin secretion of bile.

The study investigated a stimulating effect of tris-[2-hydroxyethyl] ammonium salt of iron-containing polyacryl acid on proliferative processes in the connective tissue in development of experimental gastric ulcer. The drug was found to exhibit an ulcerostatic effect, to change the levels of collagen, noncollagen proteins, glycosaminoglycan fractions, DNA and RNA.

It was demonstrated in experiments on rats with acetate gastric ulcer that ammonium salt tris-(2-hydroxyethyl) of iron-containing polyacrylic acid intensifies the development of granulation-fibrous tissue and promotes fuller restoration of connective-tissue polymers--collagen, noncollagenous proteins, and glycosaminoglycans in it. The biochemical results are confirmed by histological studies.

Stimulating effect of 1-ethoxysilatrane on healing processes of experimental stomach ulcers was studied in rats. 1-ethoxysilatrane inhibited lipid peroxidation in blood and stomach wall tissues, interacted with artificial membranes, and affected the rate of mitochondrial respiration in liver. A hypothesis is put forward on the membranotropic effect of 1-ethoxysilatrane which underlies its ulcerostatic effect.

A stimulating effect of methylethyl(silatrane-I-ilmethyl)-sulphonium iodides, 1-(ethoxy)silatranes and 1-(chloromethyl)silatrane on the processes of rat test acetate ulcer healing is studied. Silatranes efficiency is not inferior to oxyferriscorbone and exceeds that of methacil. It is shown that all preparations inhibit the processes of lipids peroxidation in the blood, in liposomes and stomach tissue.

Neurophysiological effects of different metal derivatives of atranes at single and repeated introduction into rats have been studied. Spontaneous activity of separate hypothalamic neurons was found to change at introduction of atranes. Discharge activity of hypothalamic [correction of pretubercular] cells changed both in phasic and in tonic mode in response to single injection of atranes. The data obtained allow to conclude that metal derivatives of atranes do not exert specific effect on hypothalamic neurons.

Stimulating effect of I-ethoxy silatrane on healing of acetate derived stomach ulcer was studied in rats. The drug was shown to inhibit lipid peroxidation and free-radical oxidation in blood and gastric tissues as well as to accelerate reparation in ulcerous zone. I-Ethoxy silatrane interacted with artificial membranes and affected the respiration rate in liver mitochondria. Membranetropic effect of I-ethoxy silatrane appears to be involved in the drug ulcerostatic effect.

The ulcerostatic activity of methylethyl (sylathrane-1-ilmethyl) sulfoiodide, 1-(chlormethyl) sylatrane, and 1-(isopropoxy)hermatrane has been revealed at experimental acetate ulcer in rats. The effect of atranes was equal to that of oxyferriscorbone and exceeded that of methyluracil. All the compounds studied inhibited peroxide oxidation of lipids in blood and stomach tissues from ulcer and in model experiments in egg yolk liposomes. The processes of ulcer development and photodynamic effects of lipid peroxidation in biological objects have been summarized. The data obtained allow to conclude that the ulcerostatic mechanism of action effect of atranes and the comparable drugs is based on their antioxidative effect.
