ABSTRACT

For last few years in Russia and in the Armed Forces of RF is marked a growth of number of acute intoxications by GABA-agonists and by muscle relaxants, particularly by baclofen. Manifestations of intoxication by this specimen include cerebral and somatic-vegetal disorders, in grave cases of illness could evolve psychic excitement, delusions and coma. Treatment of baclofen intoxication compares of gastric lavage using a thick pathfinder, accompanied by insertion of adsorbent and apocathartic means, maintaining of impaired vital functions of body. Hereafter these injured patients should be hospitalized in a treatment institute, where exists a possibility of effectuating of reanimation and intensive care as well as extracorporal detoxication (hemosorption, hemodialysis).

ABSTRACT

The paper analyzes the incidence of adverse reactions caused by tuberculostatics used in the treatment of renal tuberculosis by follow-ups of 117 patients. Current polychemotherapy for renal tuberculosis has been found to be complicated by drug intolerance in 40.1% of cases. Intermittent intravenous injection of tuberculostatics causes side effects in 36.8% of patients while conventional treatment does in 59.1%. Pyrazinamide, streptomycin, and ethambutol are most toxic to patients with renal tuberculosis. There is a higher likelihood of drug intolerance in females with bilateral nephrotuberculosis complicated by chronic renal failure.

ABSTRACT

Steroid-binding proteins of human blood are extracted and investigated on corticosteroid-hydrazide-oxypropyl-adsorbents by the affinity chromatography. The role of structural changes in the matrix-spacer-ligand system for different types of adsorbents is studied as well as a dependence of sorption on pH and salt environment. A dependence of the protein sorption on the isolated hydrazide groups is revealed. It is shown that hydrocortisone displays the highest binding activity to the protein pool in the affinity electroimmunoassay while the substance S-Reichstein and its 16-alpha-methyl analog--the least one.

ABSTRACT

NADP-hydrazidoadipoyl oxypropyl sepharose was synthesized from epoxyactivated sepharose through a hydrazid derivative and used for isolation of NADP(H)-dependent enzymes such as glutathione reductase, isocitrate dehydrogenase and malate dehydrogenase. The isolation technique involves fractionation with ammonium sulphate, affinity chromatography on NADP-hydrazidoadipoyl oxypropyl sepharose and chromatography on hydroxylapatite. The proposed technique enabled the authors to obtain malate dehydrogenase isocitrate dehydrogenase and glutathione reductase preparations homogeneous according to SDS-electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gel.
