[From the history of clinical town of the A.V. Vishnevskii Institute of Surgery].

The article is dedicated to 150th anniversary of onset of medical and philanthropic activity of institutions of the Moscow merchant society at Schipok Street. Nowadays, in the buildings of society the A.V. Vishnevskiy Institute of surgery is situated. The archive documents were used to consider the characteristics of activity of precursors of the Institute, including the role of these structures in becoming of national public health. The value of private initiative in development of medicine and charity is demonstrated. The importance of historical traditions for contemporaries is emphasized.

[All-Russian hygienic exhibitions and museums].

The material about the popularization of hygiene and health education in Russia in the second half of the 19th century to early 20th century through exhibition and museum activities has been collected for the first time and analyzed in the paper. The role of scientists and scientific medical societies in this process is noted. The significance of museum and exhibition activities in this area for the development of medical science is defined.

[Il'ia Vasil'evich Buial'skii--collector of medical rarities].

The article presents the analyze of activity of academician of Saint-Petersburg Medical-surgical Academy Buyal'sky I.V. in sphere of collecting of memorials of medical science and practice, creation of a specialized museum of models of surgical instruments near a factory, and his activity as a painter-aquarellist. The author has paid a special attention to analyze of Buyal'sky catalogs of 1854 and 1867. of Surgical museum, consisting of things from so-called "Cabinet of professor Buyal'sky". For the first time was marked role of Buyal'sky I.V. in elaborating of principles of systematization, defining and observing of historical heritage of native medicine and industry.
