Bilan étiologique de 403 gastro-entérites aiguës infantiles. Intérêt de la numération des leucocytes dans les selles.

Etiological agents of 403 acute infantile gastroenteritis were inventoried during a three years period. During the last 18 months, qualitative and quantitative evaluation of leukocytes in stools was tried. This examination correlates with the supposed causative agent of diarrhea.Therefore, we insist on difficulties of this test : some discordant examples are described. Leukocytes numeration must be performed by experienced technician. Stools must be very liquid and well homogeneized.
