ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Screening tools such as calf circumference (CC) and Yubi-wakka (finger-ring) test have been recognized as effective tools by Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia 2019 (AWGS'19) for sarcopenia screening but their comparative agreement, diagnostic performance and validity are unclear. OBJECTIVES: This study aims to determine: (i)agreement between calf and finger-ring circumference, (ii)diagnostic performance for low muscle mass and AWGS'19 sarcopenia diagnosis, (iii)correlation with muscle mass, strength, and physical performance, and (iv)association with frailty, life space mobility and physical activity. METHODS: We studied 187 healthy community-dwelling older adults (mean age=66.8+7.0years) from the GERILABS-2 study. CC was measured via (i) both calves in sitting and standing positions, and (ii) Yubi-wakka test by encircling the thickest part of the non-dominant calf with index fingers and thumbs of both hands. We performed Cohen's kappa to check for agreement, area under receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) to compare diagnostic performance, partial correlations adjusted for age and gender to compare convergent validity, and logistic regression to determine predictive validity for outcome measures. RESULTS: Sarcopenia prevalence was 24.0% (AWGS'19). Yubi-wakka identified 16.6% of participants as screen-positive ("smaller"), showing moderate agreement only with non-dominant sitting CC measurements (k=0.421,p<0.001) and having lower diagnostic performance in determining low muscle mass (AUC=0.591 vs 0.855-0.870,p<0.001; sensitivity=57.1% vs 75.5-90.8%; specificity=58.4% vs 70.8-80.9%) and sarcopenia diagnosis (AUC=0.581 vs 0.788-0.818,p<0.001; sensitivity=55.6% vs 57.5-71.8%; specificity=74.4% vs 75.6-88.9%) compared to CC measurements. Yubi-wakka correlated significantly with muscle mass, grip strength and knee extension but not physical performance. When adjusted for age, gender and hypertension, Yubi-wakka was significantly associated with frailty (OR=3.96,95%CI:1.09-14.38), life space mobility (OR=2.38,95%CI:1.08-5.24) and physical activity (OR=2.50,95%CI:1.07-5.86). DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS: Yubi-wakka provides a self-administered, low-cost and practicable community screening tool for sarcopenia. Our study affirmed the convergent and predictive validity of Yubi-wakka, albeit with lower sensitivity and specificity in diagnostic performance compared to CC measurements.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVES: Well-established clinical practice to assess progress in labor involves routine abdominal palpation and vaginal examination (VE). However, VE is subjective, poorly reproducible and painful for women. In this study, our aim is to evaluate the feasibility of systematically integrating transabdominal and transperineal ultrasound assessment of fetal position, psAOP, HPD and SCD to monitor labor progress in women undergoing induction of labor (IOL). We also aim at determining if ultrasound can reduce women's pain during examinations. METHODS: Women were recruited as they presented for IOL in three maternity units. Ultrasound assessments were performed in 100 women between 37+0 and 41+6 weeks' gestation. A baseline combined transabdominal and transperineal scan was performed, including the assessment of fetal biometry, umbilical artery and middle cerebral artery Dopplers, amniotic fluid index (AFI), fetal spine and occiput positions, psAOP, HPD, SCD, and cervical length. Intrapartum scans were performed instead of VEs according to protocol. Participants were asked to indicate their level of pain by verbally giving a pain score from 0 - 10 (with 0 representing no pain) during assessment. The repeated measures data were analyzed by mixed effect models to identify the significant factors that affected the relationship between psAOP, HPD, SCD and mode of delivery. RESULTS: 223 intrapartum ultrasound scans with a median of 2 scans per participant (interquartile range (IQR) = 1 - 3), and 151 VEs were performed with a median of 1 per participant (IQR = 0 - 2). There were no adverse fetal or maternal outcomes. After excluding those with epidural anesthesia during examination, median pain score for intrapartum scan was 0 (IQR = 0 - 1) and 3 for VE (IQR = 0 - 6). Cesarean delivery and epidural anesthesia were significantly associated with slower rate of change in psAOP, HPD and SCD. Maternal height, parity and neonatal birth weight did not affect ultrasound measurements of labor progress. CONCLUSIONS: Comprehensive transabdominal and transperineal ultrasound assessment can be successfully used to assess progress in labor and can reduce the level of pain experienced during examination. BACKGROUND: Older adults with multimorbidity are under-represented in clinical drug trials. Their inclusion will not increase unless they are willing and able to participate. Data on motivators and barriers to participation in trials of new medications of older adults with multimorbidity are needed. METHODS: Cross-sectional internet and telephone survey of a nationally representative sample of adults ≥65 years with ≥3 chronic conditions (NORC University of Chicago Amerispeak Panel) conducted from March-April, 2023 to determine motivators and barriers to drug trial participation, described graphically and using statistics. RESULTS: Surveyed 1318 (1142 Internet, 176 phone) with mean age 72.3 ± 6.3 (SD), 52% women; race: 83% White, 10% Black or African American, 5% Hispanic or Latino, 1.1% Asian; 4.4 ± 1.9 chronic conditions (of 16 queried), taking 7.5 ± 3.3 medications. Barriers included fear of side effects (48%), taking too many medications (44%), placebo (44%), mobility (33%), bathroom needs (25%), hearing (19%), eyesight (15%), video visits (33%; higher in women, Black or African-American respondents, and those ≥80 years). Sixty-five percent would join all in-person trials, 49% would join all-video trials. Travel >1 h was difficult for 66%, most difficult for women. Trust was a concern in 25% of Black respondents. Caregiving responsibilities or lack of time were not obstacles. Participants were most likely to consider a drug trial for a problem they have (63%) versus prevention (44%) and if invited by a physician (80%) or University healthcare system (58%). Getting better care was ranked very important (79%) followed by helping others (57%). CONCLUSIONS: Major concerns of older patients with multimorbidity about participation in drug trials are potential side effects, taking too many medicines, and video visits. Physicians have the greatest influence on decisions and in-person visits are preferred. Proposed changes in trial design to increase enrollment of under-represented older adults may not align with patient-reported preferences.

ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: This study compared the performance of the artificial neural network (ANN) model with the Acute Physiologic and Chronic Health Evaluation (APACHE) II and IV models for predicting hospital mortality among critically ill patients in Hong Kong. METHODS: This retrospective analysis included all patients admitted to the intensive care unit of Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital from January 2010 to December 2019. The ANN model was constructed using parameters identical to the APACHE IV model. Discrimination performance was assessed using area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC); calibration performance was evaluated using the Brier score and Hosmer-Lemeshow statistic. RESULTS: In total, 14 503 patients were included, with 10% in the validation set and 90% in the ANN model development set. The ANN model (AUROC=0.88, 95% confidence interval [CI]=0.86-0.90, Brier score=0.10; P in Hosmer-Lemeshow test=0.37) outperformed the APACHE II model (AUROC=0.85, 95% CI=0.80-0.85, Brier score=0.14; P<0.001 for both comparisons of AUROCs and Brier scores) but showed performance similar to the APACHE IV model (AUROC=0.87, 95% CI=0.85-0.89, Brier score=0.11; P=0.34 for comparison of AUROCs, and P=0.05 for comparison of Brier scores). The ANN model demonstrated better calibration than the APACHE II and APACHE IV models. CONCLUSION: Our ANN model outperformed the APACHE II model but was similar to the APACHE IV model in terms of predicting hospital mortality in Hong Kong. Artificial neural networks are valuable tools that can enhance real-time prognostic prediction.

ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: Because there have been changes in the management of macrosomic pregnancies and shoulder dystocia in the past decade, this study was conducted to compare the incidences of shoulder dystocia and perinatal outcomes between the periods of 2000-2009 and 2010-2019. METHODS: This retrospective study was conducted in a tertiary obstetric unit. All cases of shoulder dystocia were identified using the hospital's electronic database. The incidences, maternal and fetal characteristics, obstetric management methods, and perinatal outcomes were compared between the two study periods. RESULTS: The overall incidence of shoulder dystocia decreased from 0.23% (134/58 326) in 2000-2009 to 0.16% (108/65 683) in 2010-2019 (P=0.009), mainly because of the overall decline in the proportion of babies with macrosomia (from 3.3% to 2.3%; P<0.001). The improved success rates of the McRoberts' manoeuvre (from 31.3% to 47.2%; P=0.012) and posterior arm extraction (from 52.9% to 92.3%; P=0.042) allowed a greater proportion of affected babies to be delivered within 2 minutes (from 59.0% to 79.6%; P=0.003). These changes led to a significant reduction in the proportion of fetuses with low Apgar scores: <5 at 1 minute of life (from 13.4% to 5.6%; P=0.042) and <7 at 5 minutes of life (from 11.9% to 4.6%; P=0.045). CONCLUSION: More proactive management of macrosomic pregnancies and enhanced training in the acute management of shoulder dystocia led to significant improvements in shoulder dystocia incidence and perinatal outcomes from 2000-2009 to 2010-2019.

ABSTRACT

In March 2023, the European Forum for Research and Education in Allergy and Airways diseases (EUFOREA) organized its bi-annual Summit in Brussels with expert panel members of EUFOREA, representatives of the EUFOREA patient advisory board, and the EUFOREA board and management teams. Its aim was to define the research, educational and advocacy initiatives to be developed by EUFOREA over the next 2 years until the 10th anniversary in 2025. EUFOREA is an international non-for-profit organization forming an alliance of all stakeholders dedicated to reducing the prevalence and burden of chronic allergic and respiratory diseases via research, education, and advocacy. Based on its medical scientific core competency, EUFOREA offers an evidence-supported platform to introduce innovation and education in healthcare leading to optimal patient care, bridging the gap between latest scientific evidence and daily practice. Aligned with the mission of improving health care, the expert panels of asthma, allergic rhinitis (AR), chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) & European Position Paper on Rhinosinusitis and Nasal Polyps (EPOS), allergen immunotherapy (AIT) and paediatrics have proposed and elaborated a variety of activities that correspond to major unmet needs in the allergy and respiratory field. The current report provides a concise overview of the achievements, ambitions, and action plan of EUFOREA for the future, allowing all stakeholders in the allergy and respiratory field to be up-dated and inspired to join forces in Europe and beyond.

ABSTRACT

With the increased awareness about the economic and environmental impact of food waste, many interventions along food supply chains have been proposed to mitigate food waste. Even though interventions used to target food waste usually revolve around logistics and operations management, we highlight a unique solution to address this issue, specifically for fluid milk. We target the intrinsic quality of fluid milk by evaluating interventions that will extend the product shelf life. We used data from a previous fluid milk spoilage simulation model, collected price and product information from retail stores, conducted an expert elicitation, and used hedonic price regressions to determine the private and social gains to the dairy processing plant when implementing 5 different interventions to extend shelf life. Our data suggest that the value of each additional day of shelf life is approximately $0.03 and indicate that increasing periodic equipment cleaning is the most cost-effective strategy for processing plants to achieve fluid milk shelf-life improvements, both from a firm's economic standpoint and from an environmental standpoint. Importantly, the approaches reported here will be valuable to help individual firms to generate customized facility and firm specific assessments that identify the most appropriate strategies for extending the shelf life of different dairy products.

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the diagnostic performance and clinical utility of the urine Congo red dot test (CRDT) in predicting preeclampsia (PE) within 7 days, 14 days and 28 days of assessment. STUDY DESIGN: A prospective single center double blind non-intervention study conducted from January 2020 to March 2022. Urine congophilia has been proposed as a point-of-care test for the prediction and rapid identification of PE. In our study, urine CRDT and pregnancy outcomes were assessed in women presenting with clinical features of suspected PE after 20 weeks of gestation. RESULTS: Among the 216 women analyzed, 78 (36.1 %) women developed PE, in which only 7 (9.0 %) of them had a positive urine CRDT test. The median (IQR) interval between the initial test and the diagnosis of PE was significantly shorter for women with a positive urine CRDT compared with women with a negative urine CRDT (1 day (0-5 days) vs 8 days (1-19 days), P = 0.027). The negative predictive value of a negative urine CRDT test for PE within 7 days, 14 days and 28 days of assessment were 83.73 % (95 %CI 81.75 %- 85.54 %), 78.92 % (95 % confidence interval [CI] 77.07 %- 80.71 %) and 71.77 % (95 %CI 70.06 %- 73.42 %) respectively. The sensitivity of the urine CRDT in ruling in PE within 7 days, 14 days and 28 days of assessment were 17.07 % (95 %CI 7.15 %- 32.06 %), 13.73 % (95 %CI 5.70 %- 26.26 %) and 10.61 % (95 %CI 4.37 %- 20.64 %), respectively. CONCLUSIONS: Urine CRDT alone has high specificity yet low sensitivity in the short-term prediction of PE in women with suspected PE. Further studies are required to evaluate its clinical utility.

ABSTRACT

This is the first case report on two children presenting with immediate and severe hemolytic anemia following the administration of high-dose intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIGs) in the context of pediatric inflammatory multisystem syndrome temporally associated with SARS-CoV-2 (PIMS-TS). Hemolytic anemia was described as a significant decrease in hemoglobin and an increase in lactate dehydrogenase after the second administration of high-dose IVIGs was performed. Both patients were found to have AB blood group. One of our patients showed massive pallor, weakness, and inability to walk in association with hemolysis. However, in both cases, the anemia was self-limiting and transfusion of red blood cells was not required: both patients recovered without persistent impact. Nonetheless, we aim to draw attention to this widely unknown adverse effect of IVIG, especially in the context of PIMS-TS. We suggest determining the patient's blood group prior to high-dose IVIG infusion and replacing the second IVIG through high-dose steroids or anticytokine therapy. Using IVIGs containing lower titers of specifically anti-A or anti-B antibodies to avoid isoagglutinin-caused hemolytic anemia is desirable; however, the information is not routinely available.

The aim of this study was to investigate the gingival thickness and biologic width in the aesthetic zone (maxillary central and lateral incisors) in an Asian population using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) as a non-invasive measurement method, prior to immediate implant placement. The gingival geometric ratio is introduced as a new parameter for assessing soft tissue stability and hence predicting the aesthetic outcome. The gingival thickness, biologic width category (normal, high, and low crest), and gingival geometric ratio (shape and configuration of the gingival tissues) were assessed for 171 central and 175 lateral incisors on high-resolution CBCT images. Thick gingivae were found in 93.6% of the central incisors and 64% of the lateral incisors (P < 0.001). The difference in thickness between the central and lateral incisors was statistically significant (P < 0.001). Regarding the biologic width of the facial gingival tissue, the majority of central (64.8%) and lateral (64.3%) incisors were categorized as low crest (>3 mm). The study found that most of the gingivae of the maxillary central incisors were thick, while thin gingivae were more prevalent in the lateral incisors. Therefore, an individual patient may have different gingival thickness types, and 'one individual, one gingival biotype' may not be true. Furthermore, the majority of the facial gingival tissues of the maxillary incisors were found to be low crest.

ABSTRACT

There is increasing awareness of the impact of food waste and the large role best-by or sell-by dates play in consumer food waste. To address this issue, predictive models have been developed that can not only provide more accurate best-by dates for fluid milk but could also be used to dynamically predict shelf-life (e.g., based on distribution data such as storage temperatures) and adjust prices for products closer to the end of shelf-life. However, limited information is available on strategies to communicate this type of information to consumers. Here we assessed the consumer acceptance of (1) quick response (QR) code technology to communicate product shelf-life and (2) shelf-life dependent pricing based on QR codes by offering both half-gallon fluid milk with traditional printed best-by dates and identical products with QR codes to convey best-by dates over an 8-wk time period in a retail setting. Overall, 62% of half-gallon containers sold over this time frame featured QR codes and 48% of QR code scans were linked to subsequent sales, suggesting the possibility of substantial consumer acceptance of novel technologies to display and communicate best-by dates. Preliminary data based on a small number of sales also showed that consumers did purchase QR code-labeled products offered at a reduced price due to limited remaining shelf-life. Our data suggest that at least some consumer segments would adopt QR code-based shelf-life labels, which presents an opportunity to better manage and communicate "best-by" dates and use dynamic pricing strategies to reduce food waste that occurs when an end-of-shelf-life product is either not sold or is discarded by consumers. Overall, QR codes represent a strategic opportunity for the dairy industry to achieve greater sustainability and to foster stronger connections with customers through enhanced provision of information that highlights sustainability practices implemented across the whole supply chain.

INTRODUCTION: The global neonatal death (NND) rate has been declining in recent decades, but there are no comprehensive data concerning the characteristics of NNDs in Hong Kong. This study investigated the trends and aetiologies of NNDs among singleton pregnancies in Hong Kong. METHODS: This study included all cases of NND from singleton pregnancies in a tertiary hospital in Hong Kong between 2000 and 2019. The rates, clinical characteristics, and aetiologies of NND were compared between the first (2000-2009) and the second (2010-2019) decades. RESULTS: The NND rate decreased from 1.66/1000 livebirths (97 cases) in the first decade to 1.32/1000 livebirths (87 cases) in the second decade. Congenital or genetic abnormalities (82 cases) caused 44.6% of all NNDs. There was a significant reduction from 0.82/1000 livebirths in the first decade to 0.52/1000 livebirths in the second decade (P=0.037). Other causes of NND were prematurity (69 cases; 37.5%), sepsis (16 cases; 8.7%), hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy (15 cases; 8.2%), and sudden infant death syndrome (2 cases; 1.1%). Gestational age-specific neonatal mortality for moderately preterm neonates (31-33 weeks of gestation) significantly decreased from 34.73/1000 in 2000-2009 to 8.63/1000 in 2010-2019 (P=0.001), but there were no significant changes in neonatal mortality for other gestations. CONCLUSION: The NND rate in Hong Kong is among the lowest worldwide. Neonatal deaths in our centre declined over the past two decades, mainly because of improvements in the prenatal diagnosis and treatment of congenital or genetic abnormalities, as well as an improved survival rate among moderately preterm neonates.

Importance: Older age may be accompanied by changes in the pharmacokinetics or pharmacodynamics or both of medications that can result in altered safety and efficacy profiles. Objective: To assess representation of older adults in clinical trials of new drug applications (NDAs) and biologics license applications (BLAs). Design, Setting, and Participants: This cross-sectional study analyzed US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) data for NDAs and BLAs approved from 2010 through 2019. Age distribution of clinical trial participants was compared with age distribution of the US population with the disease or disorder (prevalent population). Data were from adults enrolled in registration trials for depression, heart failure, insomnia, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) stroke prevention, osteoporosis, and type 2 diabetes or adults sampled from US prevalent population in community-dwelling health data. Data were analyzed from November 2020 to February 2021. Exposures: Trial enrollment. Main Outcomes and Measures: Representativeness of trial populations was assessed by the participation to prevalence ratio (PPR) defined as the percentage of patients by age group among clinical trial participants to the percentage of patients by age group among US prevalent population. Results: Data from 166 clinical trials (229 558 participants) for 44 NDAs and BLAs were analyzed. The most consistent finding was the limited enrollment of the oldest age groups, namely those 75 years and above for type 2 diabetes and NSCLC, and 80 years and above for NVAF stroke prevention, insomnia, heart failure, and osteoporosis. Adults aged 60 to 74 years were enrolled in equal or greater proportion than the US prevalent population. Conclusions and Relevance: In this cross-sectional study, underrepresentation of the oldest adults existed during evaluation of new drugs and biologics, yet the older adults may represent significant proportions of the treatment population. Closing the representation gap between clinical trial enrollment and potential treatment populations is essential for safe and effective use of new drugs and biologics.

ABSTRACT

Ganoderma boninense, the causal agent of basal stem rot (BSR) disease, has been recognized as a major economic threat to commercial plantings of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) in Southeast Asia, which supplies 86% of the world's palm oil. High genetic diversity and gene flow among regional populations of 417 G. boninense isolates collected from Sabah, Sarawak, and Peninsular Malaysia (Malaysia) and Sumatra (Indonesia) were demonstrated using 16 microsatellite loci. Three genetic clusters and different admixed populations of G. boninense across regions were detected, and they appeared to follow the spread of the fungus from the oldest (Peninsular Malaysia and Sumatra) to younger generations of oil palm plantings (Sabah and Sarawak). Low spatial genetic differentiation of G. boninense (FST = 0.05) among the sampling regions revealed geographically nonrestricted gene dispersal, but isolation by distance was still evident. Analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA) confirmed the little to no genetic differentiation among the pathogen populations and the three genetic clusters defined by STRUCTURE and minimum spanning network. Despite G. boninense being highly outcrossing and spread by sexual spores, linkage disequilibrium was detected in 7 of the 14 populations. Linkage disequilibrium indicated that the reproduction of the fungus was not entirely by random mating and genetic drift could be an important structuring factor. Furthermore, evidence of population bottleneck was indicated in the oldest oil palm plantations as detected in genetic clusters 2 and 3, which consisted mainly of Peninsular Malaysia and Sumatra isolates. The population bottleneck or founding event could have arisen from either new planting or replanting after the removal of large number of palm hosts. The present study also demonstrated that migration and nonrandom mating of G. boninense could be important for survival and adaptation to new palm hosts.

ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: Multiple pregnancies have become more common, but their perinatal mortality rate remains higher than the rate among singleton pregnancies. This retrospective study investigated the prevalence and causes of perinatal mortality among multiple pregnancies in Hong Kong. METHODS: All multiple pregnancies in a university tertiary obstetric unit between 2000 and 2019 were reviewed, and the medical records of cases complicated by stillbirth and neonatal death were identified. The causes of perinatal mortality were determined based on clinical assessment and laboratory results, then compared between the first (2000-2009) and second (2010-2019) decades. RESULTS: The prevalence of multiple pregnancies increased from 1.41% in the first decade to 1.91% in the second decade (P<0.001). Compared with the first decade, the second decade had a lower stillbirth rate (14.72 vs 7.68 [both per 1000 births]; P=0.026), late neonatal death rate (4.78 vs 1.16 [both per 1000 livebirths]; P=0.030), and total mortality rate (25.32 vs 13.82 [both per 1000 births]; P=0.006). The decline in stillbirth rate was related to improvements in antenatal care and treatment. The decline in the late neonatal death rate was related to a reduction in preterm birth before 34 weeks (18.5% vs 15.2%; P=0.006), as well as an improvement in the mortality rate in the subgroup of 31-33 weeks (19.23 vs 0 [both per 1000 livebirths]; P=0.035). CONCLUSION: Although the prevalence of multiple pregnancies increased during the study period, the corresponding total perinatal mortality rate improved by 45.4%.

ABSTRACT

The data described was acquired as part of a clinical study with the aim to investigate the potential of tumor-reactive T-cell response as response to vaccination of pancreatic cancer patients with an allogenic tumor cell lysate vaccine (Lau et al., 2022). Proteomics analysis was carried out to identify tumor antigens that are shared between the allogeneic tumor cell lysate used for the vaccine and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) tissue samples. To this objective, cell lysates of the vaccine and of nine tissue samples were enzymatically digested and isotopically labeled with tandem mass tags (TMT) in a so-called six-plex manner (Thermo Fisher Scientific). Three pools were prepared by mixing the samples according to their TMT-labels. Subsequently, the three sample pools were fractionated into 24 fractions with high-pH reversed phase chromatography. These fractions were first analyzed on a nano-liquid chromatography (LC) system online coupled to a high-resolution Eclipse Orbitrap mass spectrometer (MS) equipped with a high-field asymmetric-waveform ion-mobility spectrometry (FAIMS) source using a data-dependent MS2 shotgun method. Overall, 126,618 unique peptide sequences, on basis of 768,638 peptide spectra matches and corresponding to 7,597 protein groups, were identified in the total sample set including 61 tumor antigens (Supplement Table S2 in Lau et al. 2022) that were prioritized by Cheever and co-workers as vaccine target antigens on basis of a series of objective criteria (Cheever et al., 2009). In the second phase of the experiment, this set of tumor antigens was targeted using a serial precursor selection (SPS) MS3 method. From this data, ion trap MS2 and Orbitrap MS3 fragment spectra were extracted for peptide identification (protein sequence database-dependent search) and relative quantification using the TMT labels, respectively. The dataset ultimately allowed the identification and quantification of 51 proteins and 163 related peptide precursors with the TMT labels (see Fig. 2B and Supplemental Fig. 8, Lau et al. 2022).
