ABSTRACT

Selecting, implementing and operating the right technology solutions are increasingly critical components for health plans in today's competitive consumer health care market. Decisions about what architecture to employ, what software applications to buy and what hardware platform to run affect a plan's ability to become a market leader. Additionally, health plans must consider the best approaches for maintaining and operating their IT solutions, which inevitably include employing a global sourcing strategy that extends IT budgets and expertise while lowering costs.
